    Running Backs

Fwiw Taylor is shown jogging and high-fiving fans after the game on Gophers Instagram page. Tough to draw too many conclusions from that but it’s something.

Post Game Thread: Gophers Get Crushed by Michigan

Future of gopher football looks bleak no matter who coaches because of the new BIG and the system overall (what a depressing thought that is). But this year should make it clear to Fleck that if he is going to survive, he needs to adapt on offense. Our passing game is and has been atrocious for...

    Fleck has lost his hunger/edge

We’ve seen that conservative, please-let-the-game-end approach many times during the fleck era. Never seen the defense collapse like that. Not even close.

Why is our defensive backfield getting shredded?

I fundamentally do not understand why Striggow and Joyner (who has been a massive disappointment this year) were dropping into zone every play that last drive. How could that possibly be our best option?

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT NORTHWESTERN BOUNCE BACK IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I just hope we don’t run Taylor into the ground - even if it’s working. Find a second back and/or work on the passing game please.

Pat Forde: Fleck's passing game left town with Tyler Johnson and Rashod Bateman, and it hasn't come back

I wonder too if beyond the WR talent drop off, D coordinators have just gotten better at defending the RPO slant. We rarely seem to run it anymore, and I can’t imagine it’s only because we have a Crooms or Brockington instead of TJ/Bateman.

All Things P.J. Fleck Rumor Mill Thread - Listed as Candidate for Other Jobs

I could see mutual interest to an extent here given MSU resources and their need for a “culture change” and program builder. Idk if Fleck has done well enough here though, especially if we have fewer than 8 wins this year.

Postgame Thread: Gophers Lose to North Carolina

Actually encouraged by Fleck’s postgame presser. Seems like there is a sense of urgency. AK’s inaccuracy is getting concerning. He missed some deep balls that would have changed the game. Our inability to make any explosive plays (run or pass) is such a killer. How many plays over 40 yards...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT NORTH CAROLINA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

    - Athan throws much better to the sidelines than he does over the middle. - Taylor is really good. - can’t believe we weren’t prepared for their tempo. That’s on Rossi. - pleasantly surprised by our run D - NC has some skill guys and Maye is good

    The Golden Gopher defense

We’ve given up a pretty high YPC in the running game so far. Getting Lindenberg back will help, but that’s a big concern for next week.

    Minnesota needs an OC

Run game far and away the biggest concern coming out of tonight, but hopeful it’s the 3-3-5. D looked good and will get much better w Lindenberg back.

Grad Transfer CB Tre'Von Jones Commits

He was committed to James Madison until yesterday looks like.

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

Almost incomprehensible how inept Ben has been. Can’t even fill the roster. Only saving grace is that we only have to do one more year after this. An unrelenting disaster from day one.

    Knuth No Longer with Team

    Perilously thin at QB now.

    All Things 2023 NFL Draft

Great article - really cool to see him stick it out for four years and get rewarded. Sucks they used the picture of him dropping the INT that would’ve won us the Iowa game.

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

Beyond the on-court results, the biggest red flag is the lack of coherent roster construction, which suggests he doesn’t have a plan (also supported by the on-court results). The state of our PG and SG positions, which really haven’t been hit by injury, is astounding.

Horrific body language throughout from Henley and Payne today.

    New CO-DC and Corners Coach

Syracuse fans are uniformly upset that he is leaving. Sounds like he was their best recruiter and a good coach.

Not too happy in Rutgersville about the OC hire....

I liked Kirk well enough, and was looking forward to seeing what he’d do with the offense next year, but he’s not some irreplaceable offensive genius and he doesn’t strike me as a great recruiter. The bigger concern to me is is Fleck’s shaky track record on hiring coordinators. But we appear...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA VS SYRACUSE PINSTRIPE BOWL IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

This feels remarkably similar to how I felt after last season. An ugly bowl win on a criminally sloppy field after a season-redeeming win against Wisconsin.
