All Things Immaculate Grid-related (MLB, NBA, NFL)

I blew my perfect December yesterday on a greedy move--I was going for a low score and I knew Juan Beniquez played for the Rangers and knew he played first base in his career, but it turns out that it didn't happen until later in his career. I guess I can concentrate of the holiday season now...

Rob Manfred Claims There's 'Buzz' Around 'Golden At-Bat' Rule Among MLB Owners

You know where else you can find a buzz, Mr. Manfred? When spreading manure and this idea is akin to that. (pretty proud of myself for this zinger, even if it took me two days to formulate it into words)

Movies that hold up vs. those that don't

In my ongoing effort to chip away at the blind spot of serious movies from the late '70s to roughly 1985, I watched The Verdict last night and came away understanding why Bill Simmons touts it so heavily on The Rewatchables. Given my moniker, you might think I've seen the entirety of Paul...

Nice work--I have to imagine that Mendoza is the only household name (in homes of baseball aficionado, at least) for a player who has a sub 0.0 WAR score for their career. I went with former Twin and victim of leukemia at the age of 26, Danny Thompson.

    All Things TV Series Recommendations/Reviews

I just finished Netflix’s A Man on the Inside starring Ted Danson with Michael Schur as the creator and thoroughly enjoyed it. Quick 8 episodes and it breezed along with a wonderful combination of humor, heart, and intrigue. Danson was excellent.

All Things Immaculate Grid-related (MLB, NBA, NFL)

I'm proud to say and will be updating my resume to state that I pitched a perfect month on the baseball grid for November--It was pretty fraught towards the end as a few of my Achilles' heels (D-Backs, Rockies, Marlins, Negro League participants) seemingly would end my quest, but the final day...

All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

I woke up at 3:30 AM to go to the can. While on said can, I check the score of the game and see the Vikings appear to have a comfortable 24-16 lead and then add the field goal to go up by 11 with 2:00 to go. I figure it's safe to go back to bed, but check once more, and see the Bears scored...

All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

Jamiche, that Vikings squad was -3 for the season in point differential and also negative on the yardage gained—I’m not saying this season should be confused with the ‘97 Vikings but the ‘22 version was doing it with smoke and mirrors...

Jumping into the conversation about the wisdom of tying so much money into a WR, I'm going to first acknowledge that I defer to Ogee on this point, as he laid out quite some time ago how the way the Vikings have set up their salary structure allowed them to A) be able to pay JJ these top...

Nice work--I'm sitting at 8% currently and I have to tell you, the "Holy Hell..." series has really come in handy, when I can remember who the hell I put down for each team ;-). My Twins/Cubs was Dave LaRoche (.1%) Twins/Dodgers, the pride of Rothsay (1%) Twins/Astros, Mark Davidson, part of...

I'm pretty sure on the NFL grid that there was a board that Adrian Peterson was able to be used for all 9 squares.

I did--anytime you can invite John Lowenstein, Danny Darwin and LaRue Washington to the party, it's a good day. I also was able to utilize Claudell Washington--if only I could have found a spot for U.L. it would have been the perfect day. But I used Kirby, so it was close to a perfect day...

Well damn, I never imagined that Liriano achieved that mark post-Twins career. In my internal narrative, his career was pretty much done after the injuries with the Twins. And thank you for clarifying Dick Mountain—every time you mentioned him, I thought to myself, ‘how did I overlook Mr...

I thought I could get one of my all-time low scores today after my top row with the Twins--Kelvin Torve (Mets-.1%), Chuck Baker (Padres-.1%) and Camilo Pascual (200 SO's-2%) Alas, the Pirates/200 SO's (Bob Veale-7%) done me in for a sub 10% score. I figure that's where you utilized Circle Me...

Not a Twins day, but you can use the three St.Paul HOF’ers today (I recognized so a little too late).
