Defensive breakdowns are beginning to become concerning. But missing 3 top players might do that. Great resilience. Getting out of there with any points at all was a coup. Boldy is in a funk. Maybe the shootout winner will get him back on track.

So you are saying @Spoofin played 1B in baseball, but C in softball? In my experience, fitness/food intake-challenged folks fit well at 3B in softball too- you barely have time to move. Just take it off the nuts, pick it up, throw him out. @Spoofin likely gets time there as well.

They would never do my idea of a chaser, because it would lead to collisions. Your idea is the only viable idea. It still wouldn't be anything like real hockey. :(

You could also go back to 4 on 4. That would help make it less arcade-y. But also make it more difficult to score, leading to more shootouts. And those totally blow. In the shootout, I would add a defending chaser that starts at the far blue line - both players start when the whistle blows...

It’s not an arcade game. It’s still hockey. But they should try to figure a way to eliminate all the circling. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion and I understand where you are coming from.

I don’t agree and don’t think “purists” agree with that - ties suck. I just wish they would make a rule that you cannot have possession of the puck, then purposely retreat from the attacking zone all the way over the center red line. I think that should be a turnover given to the other team...

Yep. Professional hockey is an absolute grind. You can’t take a shift off. I think back-to-backs with your rule would be practically impossible. I would say no home-away back-to-backs.

The Predators have some pretty talented players and were supposed to be much better. The Wild appeared a little gassed, but I think slogged through it and got the job done - in large part thanks to another terrific game by Gus. Nice game by Foligno and, as usual, KK buzzed all over the place...
