Has NIL and the portal already ruined March Madness?

The times they are a changing...I think the times are good for the Gophers and the Big Ten. T he SEC had 14 teams in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. Every conference game was nearly a Quad 1 opportunity. Play a half decent non conference schedule and finish in the neighborhood of 500 in...

Bottom line: we have a chance now. It is more possible we could be good! Obviously, we will be better!

    Ben McCollum To Iowa

Lot of reports suggesting it is true. One that is behind a paywall that says maybe not. I do know I don't like it. I believe Iowa will instantly be in the upper portion of the conference standings if true. NIL money or NIL money.

Has NIL and the portal already ruined March Madness?

Bennett Stirtz for Drake and JT Toppin for Texas Tech are two indiviual performers that will be fun to watch in the upcoming matchup. VERY different players but standouts! I haven't watched enough games...but, how many fun to watch players are there? It doesn't seem like there are as many...

Is Gophers basketball really one of the toughest jobs in the country? | BMTN video

Ya, all that but I do believe what makes it most difficult is no boosters comparable to the winning programs and an administration that only gives lip service to athletics. And an Athletics Director that is not a promoter. Need a really good coach to overcome all that. Oh, and 5 professional...

    Kadyn Betts in the portal

If he is a straight A student hopefully he did some research. He had a scholarship at Minnesota. He has potential but not much game experience and demonstrated a poor understanding of the game too often when he did play. Hopefully, it works out for him or he's already negotiated a home...

The University of Notorius Cheaters (UNC) Makes the Dance

You don't have to be much of a bookie to foresee San Diego State getting boat raced by North Carolina. They find out their matchup Sunday night. They scramble to gather a scouting report on North Carolina. They get up Monday morning for an all day trip across the country to the diagonal...

    DeVries is Heading to Indiana

I have a feeling they may have already shot their wad. Time will tell which direction Indiana football is trending. It may not nose dive but I don't believe it is ascending either.

    DeVries is Heading to Indiana

Come on now...basketball is to Indiana what hockey is to Minnesota. Indiana is in the Big Ten. Indiana has much more basketball money than WV. Their historical tradition in basketball is one the kingpins of the sport. And he is getting paid more money.

The Case for Niko (aka Niko’s Case)

It was my understanding that Thorson's specialty was offense? All his coaching videos from back in the day are offensive development. I don't recall DeLaSalle overwhelming people with their defense? They just had more offensive firepower than the people they played. Just my take.

    Dawson Garcia returning

Just a typing problem...you couldn't hear me. I said 6 but my apprentice typed 5. Point is...if he has a covid year? he has a season left if he wants it...right?

    Dawson Garcia returning

I think the idea is that Dawson can make more money playing for the Gophers than he is likely to elsewhere.
