So happy tOSU won. Just can't ever root for Notre Dame.

Who do you want to win the Super Bowl ?

Has any team playing these playoff games won their playoff game while while turning the ball over more than their opponents?

Dep't of Education says Revenue-sharing should be subject to Title IX

Probably Reason #1 why Congress won't intervene.

Dep't of Education says Revenue-sharing should be subject to Title IX

Law (to the extent the action is constitutional) overrides rule, but I doubt Congress will intervene here. I think there's a lot of overreaction going on because this falls into the area of "guidance."

Official Former Gophers in the Coaching Ranks Thread

Trestman has had a really solid coaching career. His teams won three Grey Cups in Canda and although his stint as head coach of the Bears didn't pan out (he did manage to finish .500 his first year), he's hung around the game at the pro level for a long time and that doesn't happen unless you...

Dep't of Education says Revenue-sharing should be subject to Title IX

OT Board-bound or not, I've had the same thoughts. If US DOE goes away or is limited in scope, which agency is the enforcer in that scenario? It would be like having speed limits with no cops. As bobloblaw said, it likely ends up in court if this were come to pass. Who knows what happens...

ESPN: Effort to unionize college athletes hits stumbling block

Agree with the NIL part. Same goes with the pros as has been pointed out. Pat Mahomes isn't limited in what endorsements he can seek and the same would likely be in place for any college players' union. I think the union effort would be misguided to attempt that, but I think what the players...

ESPN: Effort to unionize college athletes hits stumbling block

That's my understanding as well. A person doesn't have to join a union (but still get to be free-riders on whatever the union contract has in terms of benefits), but they are still governed by what the union has negotiated.

ESPN: Effort to unionize college athletes hits stumbling block

I think we are in agreement. We were just looking at the issue from both the pre- and post-organizing efforts.

ESPN: Effort to unionize college athletes hits stumbling block

True, but the high-buck guys were very critical of the union's negotiating strategy as the lockout/strkes rolled on. They just couldn't do anything about it.

ESPN: Effort to unionize college athletes hits stumbling block

I remember during both the pro baseball and pro football strikes/lockdowns that the big money guys were telling union leadership "we have to get back on the field" but those guys weren't usually the union representative for their team and were summarily told to sit down and shut up. All the...

    Sori-Marin Name LB Coach

I don't think the age thing matters that much. Pat Fitzgerald was just a couple years older when he manned a similar position for his alma mater. Only difference is Fitzgerald worked at three other schools prior to returning to Northwestern to coach DBs and then LBs shortly after (GA one year...

Danny Collins to DC per RB

Robb Smith is still in the business as a defensive analyst for Penn State. I hope he has learned the importance of containing the edge (which he didn't do well at here). After leaving here, he was an analyst at Texas A&M for one year, defensive coordinator at Rutgers for two years, and...

Minnesota’s Corey Hetherman new defensive coordinator at Miami

I am in my 70s and realize that the game is played far differently from the game I watched growing up, but what the f*ck is the Texas DC thinking of there? A firehouse blitz? What could possibly go wrong?

Allar appears to be in a long line of Penn State QBs that have a ton of physical ability but lack a piece or two that prevents them from being top-drawer performers. He's like Hackenberg Part Two. Great game, but man I can't stand Notre Dame.

    ESPN bowl monopoly

Great concept although if it was marketed by ESPN, two SEC teams would be Park Place and Boardwalk. Big 10 would probably get "Go Directly to Jail."
