***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MUSSELMAN (USC) IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Agree. The players aren't running around in their Chuck Taylors anymore. Players are bigger, stronger, faster, and can do things that were only dreamt about in an earlier era. Refs just can't keep up with that and it's really hard to blame them.

    Six Gophers headed to combine

I have seen Cooper listed in the mid-200s on a couple of draft-related sites. Robinson also had a nice season. I really liked Henderson's game. Kesich has leg to spare, but kickers don't get drafted unless they are really superb. I think all the guys you listed will likely at least be UDFAs...

Official 2025 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

I can remember Sid going absolutely nuts when the U eliminated General College. I dated a girl who attended General College. She didn't have a cure for cancer rolling around her brain, but she was smart enough to dump me.

Michael Rand Podcast: A listener wonders if Ben Johnson is getting a fair shake with Gophers

Hence the word "if." I kid, but you're a lawyer and you drove right past the point. I qualified Hawkins because the post I responded to spoke to the pre-NIL and in an apples-to-apples comparison, I had to leave Hawkins out of the conversation. I'm not contending that Johnson is a good coach...

Andrew Trout, 2026, 6'6" offensive tackle commits to Gophers!

I made up for it by being considerably smaller than my father.

Michael Rand Podcast: A listener wonders if Ben Johnson is getting a fair shake with Gophers

Agree all around. If the Gophers had Payne, Hawkins, and Christie this year, we're likely in the top half of the Big Ten. Of course, pre-NIL we wouldn't have had Hawkins. One of the key reasons (at least stated) Johnson was brought on board was his relationship with the AAU programs. I think...

    Six Gophers headed to combine

I wasn't all that disappointed with how the season turned out, but I've had similar thoughts (only half-seriously) since the All-Star games and Combine invites. Just a lot of close games. Congrats to all of these guys. I hope they all show out.

Daniel Jackson invited to NFL combine

I think the strength angle and how he does on the bench press will also be important. He has all the skills, but the NFL (like most sports) has come to value raw physical tools over refined skills. Teams think they can take any strong/fast guy and get their skills up to pro level. I think...

Max Brosmer invited to NFL Combine

The NFL got rid of the Wonderlic because scores kept getting released and it made some guys look stupid. Some of the guys with poor scores were probably fairly stupid, but some maybe had dyslexia or another learning disability that caused test anxiety. Check out the scores here...

Ranking the Head Coaches in the Big Ten (9. PJ Fleck, Minnesota)

Schnellenberger had to go back to work. He was broke after bailing a bunch of his Miami players out of jail.

Max Brosmer invited to NFL Combine

Great news. The East/West Shrine game practices seemed to really open some eyes.

Nice to see Battle making it in the NBA

Not me. Great shooting range for someone 6-6. Someone who could have justifiably been more selfish on the court.

RB Ky Thomas transferred from MN to Kansas to Kent State to Washburn.

That would kill the conversation. It would be dead in here if someone mentioned that.

RB Ky Thomas transferred from MN to Kansas to Kent State to Washburn.

I was pretty quick in high school, but if I transferred back now I'd probably be an offensive lineman.

RB Ky Thomas transferred from MN to Kansas to Kent State to Washburn.

Surprised he could transfer back to a Minneapolis High School after playing three years at the collegiate level.
