What kind of message is it to all the other QBs and younger guys on the roster if the guy in front of them is essentially guaranteed the spot because of the previous years play? You can't preach competition then not give ZA or the other QBs the chance to win the gig. Sure Morgan starts off...
He's competing for the starting gig. We've seen Clemson and Bama replace QBs who'd won at a playoff level. Competition is good and necessary. Annexstead beat Morgan for the job previously and should be given the chance to do it again.
The Auburn DL wasn't bad at all in that game, we just got them going side to side, doubled and chipped the big guys, and blocked well at the 2nd level. Plus we had a big advantage on the outside so it was often 7 on 7 in the run game
again, what difference does it make? They've been to title games, put players in the league and have been a consistent top 15 team for years and regularly beat major conference teams in the non con. They're past the point of 'if they played in the big ten....' stuff
Thats you and how you feel. And again, that’s perfectly fine. You are not obligated to care or follow the careers of any player. The only point Im making is that to many players and to many others in the area they are still representing the city/state. Khalid had a big Minnesota tat on his arm...
my man what are you talking about? You're going off a deep end lol. And if you're really trying to argue that Khalid is still revered in the city because he does some work with local players then please explain why others that do as much and more locally aren't. You're making some silly...
When did I say that? But even still, Gonzaga has consistently been a top 10 program and consistently produced NBA players over the last 5-10 years. Regardless of recruiting rankings Gonzaga has clearly had a number of big time players.
And I'm simply talking about local recruits in general.
He represents MN basketball because he's a MN basketball player. He's been doing it for years. All the articles and stories about MN high school basketball being comparable to some of the best areas in the country are because of kids like Suggs competing against the best nationally and...
Ehhhh
Basically you're saying a kid should 'give it a shot'. Thats crazy. A kid should come here because he likes it and its a good fit. As a fan we watch players come and go. If it doesn't work out here for a player we don't really care as long as the team is ok. You can't expect a kid...
That's your prerogative. And that's fine. The issue is with people acting like other voices don't exist or like those kids no longer represent the city/state just because you've decided you don't care about him anymore
Yep. I look at it like this: If your kid was a top 50 player and could theoretically go to any school in the country and you wanted him to go to MN, what would you sell him on? We can't use relationship with coaches because that's an unknown.
Coaching? Can you say he's going to receive...
The problem with this idea is that it's simply untrue and it's untrue in most walks of life. If the only way you can represent where you come from is to go to the local college then that's a very narrow window. It's also ignoring realities.
Everyone knows Dywane Wade is from Chicago. He...
you're talking about Gonzaga fans. And that's also wrong. MN fans know where our players are from. Suggs is the highest rated recruit they've ever brought in and has played on multiple National televised games for his HS. Guarantee you most of them know where he's from.
Also you're thinking...
There are a lot of people in the TC who don't feel that you have to be going to the homestate school to represent the state/city. Same for most other places. Chicago reps hard for guys that go elsewhere. LA reps hard for guys like Harden that went to ASU. NYC and Atlanta produce plenty of...
I've never bought that.
- First off we don't have an abnormal amount of decommits and especially ones that end up at 'better' or comparable schools.
- The other thing is that they essentially take a kid off their commit list if they visit elsewhere. That doesn't jive with the strategy of...
