wisconsin. How delicious would that be?!?

What grade would you give the Gophers 2024 football season?

Unknown QB for the P4 level, unknown DC taking over a defense that was poopy the previous year, unknown at OC considering it wasn't clear whether Harbaugh, PJ, or Kaliakmanis was the problem in 2023 (it was the latter), HC who traditionally opted for a heavily conservative approach to offense...

PJ was hired 8 years ago today. What grade would you give the Fleck era?

The student section is a big deal and a good indicator of how tuned into student life the program and particularly the head coach is. They've been great and get the place rocking no matter how many blue hairs decide not to show up

    Deep passing game

It's not the end of the world, but it's one of those things that keeps us from moving from being a 7-9 win team to a 9-11 win team. I'm okay with it, it's just what we need to take that next step, IMO. All of the other pieces seem to be in place based on past performance of this coaching staff.

What’s needed make a step up?

I get your context, but I don't think we're in the "No business" phase of the program anymore. That went out the door in 2019. We should expect every game against the big boys to be close enough where consistent defense over the course of a game, competent qb play, and a sustained drive at the...

What’s needed make a step up?

I think the roster is built to compete at a high/borderline playoff level(on defense especially), all we need is a high functioning QB and a deep threat at wide receiver to make the offense truly dangerous. You don't need eleven 4/5 star guys to be a winner, but it helps. Both coordinators...

PJ was hired 8 years ago today. What grade would you give the Fleck era?

Best coach of my lifetime. Overwhelmingly changed the expectations of the fanbase. Before Fleck, we were hopeful to make bowl games most years. Half of the games on the schedule were considered likely losses by a plurality of our posters and we were hoping we'd finally get over the hump and beat...

Post Game Thread: Gophers Are Mayo Bowl Champs!!!! Finish 8-5!!!

We left some meat on the bone looking back, but this team is capable of a lot of things and Fleck has built a resilient atmosphere in the locker room. This season could've cratered but these guys fought back and earned a great ending to a season that started pretty sour.

Post Game Thread: Gophers Are Mayo Bowl Champs!!!! Finish 8-5!!!

The Iowa loss brought me to my lowest point as a fan since PJ got here, particularly after the dud that 2023 was. What a bounce back! Another example of patience being a virtue and letting things run their course before getting too hasty in assessments.

The Gophers would DOMINATE the SEC

There are two ways to look at it, either the Big was way better than anyone gave it credit for, or the SEC sucks ass. We played really competitive football in a super tight conference, I think this program is built to be a winner/can go blow to blow with anyone if the chips fall the right way.

Anthony Edwards fined $100K For This...

As long as he has a circle that will keep him out of the shit that gets these guys into trouble a la Ja Morant, and not use him and encourage him to be just a little financially responsible, I love it. The league needs him. This squeaky clean, euroball direction the has been NBA pushing things...
