Anyone have insight on how good they think the 2024 recruiting class, that just signed, is?

Game 2: Gophers Host Chicago State (11-12-23)

Problem is a good chunk of their turnovers against LIU were during the full court press. CSU did not press us at all. I would feel good about it if our turnovers were closer to 10.

2 games in, this team is fun to watch

I agree, we are definitely better this year than last, much more depth, size and scoring ability along with athleticism. We have already scored more in both games than we ever scored last year. Last year we averaged just over 61 points/game with a high of 79 vs Nebraska and a low of 39 vs...

Game 1: Gophers Host LIU (11-8-23)

I would describe her as having ~ideal build for a multisport athlete. She is well muscled and average frame so a very athletic build. There are athletes that are much smaller frame, less muscle and thinner bones. i.e. see Chet Holmgren Here are her state track meet accolades last year: High...

Game 1: Gophers Host LIU (11-8-23)

I have season tickets and I thought attendance was very typical and student turnout was much better than normal. Dawn went to the student section and band after the game to show gratitude. There were quite a few farm animals in attendance and that isn’t typical at women’s games.

Parker Fox has displayed eye-popping slam dunks in practices and might be the team’s best leaper.

I would personally be worried a bit more about someone who blew out the same knee 2x (Ihnen), than fox who blew out 2 different knees 1x (Fox). Although, it also depends on other complications from the injuries and in the 2x single knee injuries did the 2nd injury on top of the first result in...

    Borowicz?

I watched the you tube video after posting that and that was recorded last spring and in the video she said she would graduate in 1year. That must mean Hamline doesn’t require a college degree for assistant coaches.

    Borowicz?

Did she graduate college already? must have I suppose. This would have been the start of year 4.5 since she had played 2.5 years and sat out 1 year plus summer classes I imagine she could graduate already.

    EJ Walker Visit

To be clear, I have no knowledge but there are plenty of reasons i.e. player has little or no interest in playing here or player doesn't seem to have the personality to impact team chemistry the way they need or the strengths or weakness of court play don't match as well as the team needs.

    2024 Recruiting

Nice work!!! Kind of surprised, I really thought we had a full roster this year and I thought we were full next year. Looks like we probably won't add any Freshman next year unless they are exceptional. What does everyone else think? Likely someone will transfer after this season so they...

What are you most looking forward to this season?

I'm most looking forward to; 1st: a more competetive team, 2nd: seeing Fox and Ihnen back on the court, 3rd: the Sophomores performance, 4th: Freshman performance, 5th: Wilson moving people inside.

Gooooaaaaal! 19 minutes in, Nemic scores! Gophers are living in Niagara's end and the 18 yard box.

    Gopher Soccer 2023

Gophers playing Niagra right now and Sophia Boman scores in under 4 minutes on a direct free kick from under 25 yards out to the upper left corner. Gophers putting a lot of pressure on Niagara.

    Gopher Soccer 2023

I was able to answer my own question: https://cyclones.com/news/2023/8/10/soccer-cyclones-wrap-exhibition-action-undefeated-down-umn-1-0.aspx 1 point loss to ISU, disappointing but still an exhibition and we had 7 shots on goal which is solid.

New B1G, new budgets and new sports?

I do hope they add men's soccer and women's LaCrosse. I am definitely PRO for adding sports even though it seems unlikely in the current system.

    Gopher Soccer 2023

I watched the scrimmage against NDSU just over a week ago and Minnesota dominated the match with what I would guess was about 80% of play in NDSU's end. Minnesota seemed to do a better job with touch passes than last year. Did anyone see or hear about the team's play vs. Iowa State last...

Colorado officially to the Big 12

In order of preference from the PAC12 I would like to add Washington, Colorado (Big 12 soon), Utah followed by Oregon, one of the Arizona's, and probably Stanford and then I don't have a preference.
