Dawn Plitzuweit's Introductory Presser on Monday

She did actually mention the numbers 14 & 15 too, regarding roster size. Clearly, she she will be adding from the portal, which she said as much.

The Athletic: Best X and O Coach and Next Big Time Coach Survey

You are right to be skeptical, required qualifications are absolutely required at the U. They would have to pull the listing and realist the posting. I know several people who have hired at the U and they have had to relist positions because of issues with required experience.

Was the 6 year a ”required” qualification or desired qualification. One is iron clad the other is flexible. That is how the U and many places differentiate.

    Megan Duffy

What are you basing your call on? that is what is interesting, not the name at this point since the name has been out there for awhile.

I pretty much take this with a grain of salt unless I had some first hand information about this or there were multiple people stepping up with credibility, even then, people can mature/change. I have seen nothing but class from Shimmy when she has been here and I too would have liked her to be...

    Other Conference Tournaments 2022-23

I would be apoplectic if I was a Troy fan. That will need to be reviewable going forward.

MSR: Whalen Steps Down: Comments from Coyle, Gray-Miller and Coquese Washington

Good point! I was really upset with the turnovers in the B1G tournament game. Toward the later half of the season they seemed better but I was upset with some of the late season game turnovers too. It is a good reminder that proven head coaches have players that make a mess of it in games too.

Souhan: It could've been a Minnesota showcase

Kadi's blossoming started the last 5 or 6 games of last year when she really put it together, but Souhan probably wasn't paying attention.

MSR: Whalen Steps Down: Comments from Coyle, Gray-Miller and Coquese Washington

I was not advocating, these 2 are qualified the other 2 I don’t think are. That is my only point. If you don’t think they are please add to the discussion.

MSR: Whalen Steps Down: Comments from Coyle, Gray-Miller and Coquese Washington

Yes, that is an excellent point but they still get somewhat of a reset when you go to a new "big time" D1 school and get experience with the success there. I'm not saying either of these would be my choice I could understand them being chosen but could not understand the other to choices...

MSR: Whalen Steps Down: Comments from Coyle, Gray-Miller and Coquese Washington

Jolette Law https://gamecocksonline.com/sports/wbball/roster/coach/jolette-law/ and Carol Owens seem like solid candidates https://und.com/coach/carol-owens-2/

MSR: Whalen Steps Down: Comments from Coyle, Gray-Miller and Coquese Washington

According to Katerina Merriweather's Wikipedia profile: After spending one season with the Bearcats, she spent a season at UIC as an assistant before joining Purdue as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. Merriweather was suspended indefinitely during the 2005–06 season after she...

BREAKING: Mark Coyle and Lindsay Whalen announced today that Whalen will step down as head coach, effective immediately.

I for one am very disappointed she didn't get another year and feel it is a mistake. I felt she earned it by getting this years recruiting class and next years recruiting class as well as the tight bond players and coaches seemed to have this year. Lastly, I felt she deserved at least as many...

    Coaches to Watch

I can understand someone feeling strongly about him being the best candidate on paper but there is so much more that goes into picking the candidate than the record on the paper. There are many people that could do a great job here but you need to find one that can do a great job and be happy...

I am sure it is Coyles decision with a signoff by the president. Pretty sure the committee is to get some other perspectives in what to look for in the next coach. This is a self check to make sure he considers all the possible pros and cons of each candidate and position requirements.

Bruce Odson: Conversation is that Aaron Johnston will be Minnesota’s first choice if Lindsay Whalen does not turn the Gophers around next year.

Reusse has burned too many bridges being an arrogant know it all ripping people to have any inside info. If there is one thing Coyle has really impressed me with, is his ability to keep a secret about a new hire, right to the bitter end.

    Signings 2023 Class

I am actually more concerned with the Czech, and Canadian players that have international experience on respective national teams, as well as the Washington State gal whose mom was coached by Shimmy. Klick is great to keep but she was the least likely to go given the family history of the U, in...
