Reusse: Unlike the Gophers’ coaching situation, the solution for Williams Arena is simple: Blow up The Barn

Would be wierd sighlines, no? With Olympic sized ice? Problem solved with a removable elevated floor?

Reusse: Unlike the Gophers’ coaching situation, the solution for Williams Arena is simple: Blow up The Barn

Now we are up to "soooooo much money." Yes the answer is always other people's money. So tell the donors, taxpayers, sponsors, etc., why they should invest in Gopher basketball?

Reusse: Unlike the Gophers’ coaching situation, the solution for Williams Arena is simple: Blow up The Barn

Wolves will be there too. Sure, the Gophers should get in line but is the line going to move?

Reusse: Unlike the Gophers’ coaching situation, the solution for Williams Arena is simple: Blow up The Barn

Sure. Possible it happens. Quite improbable though. The temporary seating erected for the Vikings could have been built as a permanent addition for a relatively insignificant sum of money but here we are, how many years and coaches after the facilty was built, and we didn't need 2500 extra seats.

Reusse: Unlike the Gophers’ coaching situation, the solution for Williams Arena is simple: Blow up The Barn

The bigger piece to all of this is that it will take a huge private investment to build a new arena. I don't see any appetite at the legislature for building stadiums and arenas, especially with looming budget deficits (imagine spending a $17 billion dollar budget deficit and raising taxes and...

Reusse: Unlike the Gophers’ coaching situation, the solution for Williams Arena is simple: Blow up The Barn

Could say the same about FB. Why only 50,000 seats? Sleeping giant, etc. The stadium is actually appropriate sized. Williams Arena is too big.

Reusse: Unlike the Gophers’ coaching situation, the solution for Williams Arena is simple: Blow up The Barn

It reads like a conversation with an 80 year old man. But distilling down to the point, he's not wrong in the main premise - the Barn is past its use by date. Beyond that, is he suggesting a very small on campus arena for most games and higher attendance games be played at a new...

B1G soliciting preliminary bids from private equity firms

My clients sell to PE as an exit plan. Do the universities intend to exit athletics? I've suggested in the past that the schools drop the pretext of academics in athletics (at least revenue sports) and license name, mascot and tradition to entities who operate the revenue athletics, pay...

16 actually, and 11 recruits from a stellar recruiting class. 27 total. SDSU also lost 2 guys to NW and 2 to Iowa.

Fucking Vikings. Meaningless regular season wins. Meaningless post season football games. The lot of a Minnesota FB fan.

Minnesota’s Corey Hetherman new defensive coordinator at Miami

Ok. Do Miami Beach and Edina. Or Coral Gables and Wayzata.

Minnesota’s Corey Hetherman new defensive coordinator at Miami

All this talk about money, which certainly plays a role. Ambition, weather, recruiting market. What about the H.C.? By his own admission he's not for everyone.

Minnesota’s Corey Hetherman new defensive coordinator at Miami

Do our coordinators live in a tent city in Minneapolis? I'd be surprised. Compare median home prices in Miami to Edina, Wayzata, etc.

Of the NFL was a sure bet that's where he would have gone. That was his preference after last season, but his evaluators told him to return to college and work on a number of things, mechanics included. In recent interviews, he all but said he would play college ball one more year if it made...

All Things 2024/25 College Football Transfer Portal Thread

He was going to transfer last season but decided to return to Brookings, turning down 7 figure NIL (SDSU somehow came up with about $100K). He stated that 24 would be his last year at SDSU no matter what with the goal being NFL but left the door open to a transfer. I'm sure he'd get into an...

Lost his OC to NW. Lost his RB to Jets; TE to Chargers, O-linemen to Pittsburgh and Tampa and a WR to Texans and another who spent time in training camps. Those guys made him look awfully good. He's good but not great. Standup kid though.
