Kordell Stewart doesn’t have his number retired. He won two bowl games and finished in the top 10 twice. But he wasn’t the coach's son. 🤷‍♂️

Honestly....I don't really think colleges should retire numbers other than in very rare situations (like Bruce Smith at the U). Do a ring of honor or whatever but don't actually retire the number. The U honors numbers like Carter's 22, Stephens 15 and a few others but those numbers are still...

    2025 Transfer Portal Watch

I don't really care if the players get another year or not but would love to see things get to the point where the eligibility rules make sense the way they used to in the good ole days. :)

Official 2025 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

Resurecting this thread as the spring portal window is here and the first few transfers have started. Going to be a fair amount of movement all over the place as teams work to get to 105 for the upcoming season.

Hold out!! Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava did not attend Tennessee spring practice today. He’s been in conversations with Tennessee about a new contract.

Zero chance he won't get picked up by someone (UNC was rumored at one point). But definitely looks like he won't get anything close to what he tried to squeeze Tennessee for. That said, he probably still gets 7 figures from somewhere so I'm sure he won't care about the reputation hit he has...

Well that would certainly qualify as a big fish if ends up at Kentucky.

    May 2025 Portal

So looking at Gophersports.com roster there are 96 players currently listed. That 96 seems to include the 8 new guys who enrolled for spring and the transfers. It does not include the 14 other incoming freshman who will be here for fall camp. So by my very unscientific count we are sitting at...

    May 2025 Portal

The 105 roster limit is brutal for walk-ons. Those guys will be forced to look for a lower level school as opposed to going to a power 4 school and trying to earn their spot. Also eliminates those guys who know they are never going to play but just want to be part of the team while getting...

2025 NFL draft rankings: Matt Miller's top 600 prospects

Mock drafts outside of maybe the first part of the first round are pretty worthless. They give you an educated guess on who will hear their name called at some point during the draft but the specific team or round has a massive margin for error on each player.

Hold out!! Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava did not attend Tennessee spring practice today. He’s been in conversations with Tennessee about a new contract.

The big difference is when a guy holds out in the NFL it is almost always because they are a star player getting way less then the going rate for similar players at their position and ability level. The bigger issue is that if they want to run college sports like pro sports they need to have...

Baylor loses every player on roster

Did last year's players leave before the new transfers were added or after? Will freely admit to not following their situation closely at all. I am sure they will be fine as well, just another in the long line of teams needing to fill a ton of spots in this topsy turvey college basketball...

    2025 Transfer Portal Watch

Entirely possible you are right, there is so much unknown in all this. A lot of the onus gets put on the players because they are the ones choosing to enter the transfer portal and move from school to school. But the schools share in the blame for the craziness as well. Entire thing is a mess.

Kordell Stewart doesn’t have his number retired. He won two bowl games and finished in the top 10 twice. But he wasn’t the coach's son. 🤷‍♂️

Totally agree. A case can certainly be made for retiring Hunter's number even with him only being there 2 seasons. But retiring Shadeur's number is a complete joke. On top of that, players love the single digit numbers and you are taking one of those out of circulation just to honor your son...

Baylor loses every player on roster

Yeah, the roster churn in college basketball is ridiculous. Teams should not have to rebuild nearly an entire roster in one off season but it is happening all over the place.

Analysis of 2025 Coaching Changes - is there a problem?

Fair....the total pool should probably be expanded to all levels of college basketball as opposed to just D1. I know there are some coaches who never played at any level but most coaches played at some level in college even if it wasn't D1.

    2025 Transfer Portal Watch

Maybe, but the cynical side of me is inclined to believe he got a better offer from someone else and suddenly wasn't as interested in South Carolina anymore. Will be interesting to see where he ends up and what kind of $$$ figures are released in regards to his pay for play numbers.

Baylor loses every player on roster

Not really sure there are many doing what you are accusing the board of doing. Think everyone understands that players jumping ship is not just a Minnesota thing and is happening all over the country. There is certainly concern that we don't have the slush fund many teams have to buy the best...

    Chansey Willis Jr Commits

Give me a break, nobody is going way over the top like that about the commitment. Is what it is....most of us seem to like the commitment and the prospects of what Willis can bring to the team next year.....you don't.....to each their own I guess.

Analysis of 2025 Coaching Changes - is there a problem?

Agree 100% that is is a messy topic but not sure general population numbers are the way to go when talking about a sport where nearly 60% of the player pool identifies as Black or African-American. The assistant coaching pool resembles a similar ratio to the players. Head coaching pool does...

    2025 Transfer Portal Watch

Do coaches change schools after every season by choice? Because there are tons college basketball players going to their 3rd - 4th - 5th school in a span of 5 years or so. You might find a couple coaches that have risen rapidly from lower levels but most coaches are at their school for...
