STrib: Max Brosmer can cement his Gophers legacy in bowl game vs. Virginia Tech

This is the Brosmer "legacy" for me. Brosmer helped PJ accept 21st Century offensive strategy (and just in time, as the B1G is really changing). Showed him that you can (and should) use the whole field, and use all your playmakers. You have to take a bit more risk, sure, but the rewards can be...

    Another NIL mess…

Very good analysis of how contracts, and their documentation work in real life. I’ll correct one faux pas in my earlier analysis. There are “written” contracts and “oral” contracts, the latter being spoken but not documented in a written memorandum. All contracts, written and oral, are “verbal...

    Another NIL mess…

Verbal contract will often have some corroborating paper or electronic communication trail. Not a complete, unitary written agreement. But bits and pieces that, in their totality support a completed, provable agreement.

    Another NIL mess…

Exactly: The verbal contract consists of an "offer" (play for me at FSU and I promise you $250K in NIL money) that was "accepted" (the players stayed at or transferred to FSU to play). Furthermore, the players fulfilled their end of the contract by playing ("consideration" to support the...

Hey Jim Mora, name names or shut up

A little problem with naming names: you'd better have the receipts firmly in hand, with no equivocating by potential witnesses. Publishing an accusation that Coach A tampered with your players (a clear NCAA violation) is pretty clearly a defamatory statement. The truth is a defense, of course...

Source: Wisconsin QB Tyler Van Dyke entering transfer portal

Wisconsin's current transfer class is rated a little higher than the Gophers' excellent transfer class. Wisconsin's HS recruiting class is also above the Gophers' HS class (as it is virtually every year). Of course, Wisconsin, because of so many starters transferring out, has more to replace...

Physically, yes; maybe even more natural ability. But Coleman just finished his true freshman year--could probably still be molded into a player in a program like PJ's. I'd like to see him here. Coleman, given his potential upside, however, might simply be seeking enhanced NIL money. Who knows?

    Logan Loya commits

Curiously, and despite his freak athletic abilities, Nebraska fans (at least those on the Husker Board) aren't particularly sad to see Coleman transfer out. Their claims are that Coleman doesn't try hard on contested balls (despite being 6'4"), doesn't block effectively on running downs and...
