Not to rain on the old guy parade here but I would almost guarantee the average OF today throws better than they did back in the day. A single highlight doesn't exactly disprove that. If you don't think there were noodle armed guys back in the 80s you are sorely mistaken.

They are known to have a large portion of bandwagon fans due to the flashy uniforms, exciting play style, and relative recency of their success. The Vikings have been largely successful for a long time and have a passionate devoted fan base, so i think your comparison is partially accurate but...

OSU fans always used to say "if we win every game of the season and win the title but lost to Michigan it's a failed season". Now we can at least say those people are full of crap.

I don't know a ton of Oregon fans myself, but people I know who know Oregon fans would say they are at that point.

Yes I have always hated the whole conference pride thing. Obviously SEC people are the most obnoxious about it but I hate most of the teams in the B1G, I can't just start rooting for them when bowl season comes around.

Agreed, a lot of people using hindsight to criticize the decision. Also worth noting that Justin Tucker was significantly less accurate than his usual self this year, so two extra points in the snow were far from a guarantee.
