I would rather they'd been more aggressive in getting a better backup like Jameis Winston. But there's no reason to think McCarthy won't be healthy or will be terrible. They just need a good backup. Rodgers is not an option for that role.

Rodgers isn't going anywhere to be the back-up QB. The only way bringing him in makes any sense is of McCarthy gets hurt again or looks absolutely awful. In which case you are basically bailing on the McCarthy era and going back to being a QB home for old QB's.
