Dan Hurley - love him or hate him?

Interesting actions from somebody who claims to be a devout Catholic. I thought Pride was one of the seven deadly sins? But what do I know, I'm a lapsed Jew.

Reusse: Unlike the Gophers’ coaching situation, the solution for Williams Arena is simple: Blow up The Barn

Reusse needed to retire 15 years ago. He's stealing space that could be taken up by a younger person with a fresher take on sports and the world. He should, in his line of work, be aware that building new facilities for college sports was the trick 20 years ago. You couldn't pay the players...

They’ll charge you a $19.99 per month subscription to use the bathroom at the stadium. You can only cancel it by phone and it runs through the offseason.

December 2024 NCAA Women's Volleyball Portal

Gophers men’s basketball team airs frustration in players-led meeting after loss at Wisconsin

If the Gophers lose out and the UConn women win out (both very plausible scenarios) then Ben Johnson and Geno Auriemma will have the same number of conference losses in their careers. You may be onto something about experience with losing.

Minnesota’s Corey Hetherman new defensive coordinator at Miami

Maybe he can set up a low-tax entity in Dubai and have the University of Miami contract his services via a consultancy. But then he has to worry about permanent establishment if his only "customer" is Miami and he's tax resident in Florida.

Minnesota’s Corey Hetherman new defensive coordinator at Miami

I know you guys like to make literally everything about politics these days but there is a 0% chance that Corey Hetherman sat down and thought about his effective tax rate when taking the Miami job. He sees a program throwing TONS of money at talent, he can insert himself in there and have 1...

Shooter: Alumni and assorted boosters are pushing Ryan Saunders, the ex-Gopher who is an assistant for the Denver Nuggets, for the Gophers head job.

It should not be hard for a Big Ten school to hire a coach who has made the NCAA Tournament with a roster he put together. After that you start discussing NIL, recruiting experience and strategy, thoughts on an aging arena and rekindling the brand around the program. I don't see Ryan Saunders...
