    Week 13 Bowl Projections Thread

Getting passed over by Penn St would be a travesty and complete failure of the B1G conference to support schools fairly. PSU is two games worse in conference standings and there are no other defined rules to do so.

Bowl Rumor - Gophers to Outback

It’s 67 and beautiful in the Tampa area right now, aiming for the mid 70s today. Would be so awesome to have a ‘home’ game. Beaches, nice parks, outdoor areas, over 40 brewpubs in Pinellas County and plenty in Tampa, too (nicknamed the Gulp Coast). Two hour drive to Disney/ Universal...

    Week 13 Bowl Projections Thread

Question if Gophers should decline invite if less than Vegas. No need to get hurt for ESPNs money - not sure this is a year that the Grating or Pinup Bowl has any program value.

Hole Poll: What grade would you give the Gophers 2021 football season?

I’m saving the ‘A’ grade for winning the West. Gophers did go into the last weekend with a chance to win the West. So if winning West is an A, knocking on the door seems like a ‘B.’ Had a blast at Colorado. Enjoyed beating Frosty and Purdon’t. Did the Jump Around on Wisconsin. I remember...

    Week 13 Bowl Projections Thread

I do think PJs sparkle may help MN a bit in not being picked over. Bowls want a product that sells. But still an uphill battle for our beloved rodents.

    Week 13 Bowl Projections Thread

My wife and I enjoyed the Tampa Bay Area so much during the last Gophers in the Outback Bowl that we bought a home in the area. So obvious choice for me is a Florida bowl. That said, I don’t get the love affair with playing SEC teams. Its like cry that they are overrated but then feed the...

Most disappointing season in my time being a fan

This. I have shelves of Gopher gear and not one bleeping FB conference/division champion tshirt in the pile because they never win the frickin’ conference. Year 31 of regular season tickets on top of years of student season tickets (they didn’t call us super seniors back then). Pretty sure...

Gophers picked for Outback Bowl vs Auburn

First - get bowl eligible. Then, don’t settle for less than New Years Six - preferably the Rose Bowl. That requires winning the West and why not the B1G, too?

    Record Comparisons

I have had public season tickets for 31 years and I had student season tickets for number of years before that. Not one of the coaches discussed here - Mason, Brewster, Kill/Claeys, Fleck has done what they are here to do - win the Big 10 or at least the B1G West. They are all failures. Lucy...

I was in Columbus for that play. Seemed like the definition of targeting. Leidner was a tough one.

College Game Day's Kirk Herbstreit's Blunt Message

The University of Minnesota is a fantastic institution that adds enormous value to our state and world and that is 99.99% not due to athletics. We know that athletics provides student opportunities and keeps alumni connected. Yet, I do find the greed rat race tarnishes both the ‘amateur charm’...

CBS: Momentum rapidly growing for College Football Playoff expansion to eight or more teams

Lifetime dream of mine to go to a Minnesota Rose Bowl. That would make me happy. Getting 7th seed for a money grab - not nearly the charm. I kept my tickets through Wacker and Brewster. Funny that it will be the tossing aside of tradition that’s going to be the reason I drop my tickets.

If seating is limited this year, how does that impact season ticket holders?

F.A.M.I.L.Y. Forget about me, I love you. It’s not about the government or just about me, or just about you. It’s about us. Us Gopher fans. Us Americans. Us human beings.

College Football Playoff committee says they have 'Reviewed' multiple expansion ideas

Go back to no playoff. Big Ten plays for the Rose Bowl. Declare AP, Coaches, UPI, Instagram, Sassy, whatever poll champions as desired and we can argue about the results forevermore. Playoffs are for money and fans not directly vested in the programs. Each additional round of playoffs erodes...

    Favorite Moments/Games in Pitino Era?????

Somebody managed to update Richard’s Wikipedia page with the following: He requested a waiver of the NCAA to only play Loyola Marymount in 2021, but was quickly denied and told he had to play all of the teams in the Big Ten. He could be heard loudly weeping throughout the Minnesota countryside...

    What's Your Bowl Record?

    3-3 1999 Sun - L 2003 Music City - W 2003 Sun - W 2005 Music City - L 1/1/15 Citrus - L 1/1/20 Outback - W I really would like to add the Rose Bowl to the list.

Fleck: "I think we can be a really good football team next year."

It was an exhibition season. It was an exhibition season. It was an exhibition season. Winning the West would have been fun but deserving of an asterisk. So playing imperfectly also deserves an asterisk. Enjoy the items that were enjoyable (Mo, last Bateman games, 18 tackle Sori-Marin game)...

Gophers likely to decline bowl invitation if offered per Greder

Virtually every bowl projection has the Gophers in a bowl. Seems a lot of teams made proactive statements that they would not accept a bowl bid already. I would think the NCAA and ESPN would have needed a commitment by some deadline (late last night?). I would have let the players decide. In...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT wisconsin BATTLE FOR PAUL BUNYAN'S AXE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Gophers just played WI evenly at their place. We saw a few new receivers make plays. Much of the recent past WI would just wear MN down - there seemed to be an obvious talent difference on the lines. I didn’t see that today. WI won. They don’t look any better though. Looking forward to next year.

The Dinkytown McDonald's has closed: Remembering the U of M's golden arches

Thanks HopHead for the link to Al’s. Without any games to attend I hadn’t made a trip to Al’s this year. That is one place that is hard to be socially distant. Turns out Al’s has some menu items that make nice gifts. Not the same to make Al’s pancakes at home, but hopefully with a little help...
