The way things are shaping up, the "athletic" teams can beat us and we can still make it to the NCAA tournament. If we end up around .500 in B1G play we're in for sure.
Boyd is leaving to play with Ewers at UT, I'm almost certain of it. Top 15 players in Minnesota ain't getting you to a B1G Championship. We're doing the right thing trying to get some elite talent from out of state.
If they're going pro I think it would be tough to say -- "yeah, come play with the team and risk getting hurt against a 6-6 West Virginia team in a baseball stadium in Phoenix".
This is a no win situation for us
If we win:
Even if we go out there and take down a lowly 6-6 West Virginia team, nobody is really gonna care. This isn't going to get us into the Top 25 AP rankings at the end of the season. This isn't going to do anything for recruiting.
If we lose:
nobody...
Probably because of the (ridiculous) bias to not have a rematch in the semi final it won't shake out like this. I'd expect the committee to match bama and cinci in game 1 and Mich and Georgia in game 2.
In the CFP era, the way wins are evaluated is based on where those teams end up. Clemson, Auburn, Arkansas didn't have particularly impressive seasons. Georgia's best win is probably Kentucky. IMO that's not a CFP type schedule.
Durr is one of those guys that nobody talks about because the ball is never near them. Which is a very good thing for a corner.
IMO he's the best DB who's played for us in at least 10 years
