    Seeking DTA members

If any of you were at the DTA event, thanks for contributing. If not, and you want to help the players now is a good time to jump in with a 4-1 match on new members. Make someone else pay 4X whatever you are contributing. Sorry if already posted.

    Just hire a Defensive Coordinator

This is the worst advice I've read recently. You lose your #1 assistant and you want to slide in someone from the narrow list of people who can accept the job day 1? Eliminating 90% of the best candidates with that approach.

UCLA's Chip Kelly advocates for single Power 5 conference

Chip has a great idea, but it does nothing to handle the two biggest issues. 1. The TV networks claw on college football financial interests 2. See problem #1

QB Max Brosmer of New Hampshire commits to the Gophers

Definitely a good get and should be able to contribute at a high level in game 1 vs North Carolina.

QB Room Empty But OC Keeps His Job?

If the coach isn't able to get through to the QB, and the QB is unable to be consistent, it's not crazy for the coaching staff to decide to go in another direction which they are. How AK8 responds to that is his choice. Just because a player isn't able to improve doesn't mean the coach needs...

Who is to blame for the epic fail in QB evaluations?

Sanford recruited Knuth. Kirk recruited Viotto. He saw him on a rainy day and offered on the spot. Seemed like Kirk just wanted to get a commitment and be done.

How do you feel about the state of program right now?

My opinion is we all know what's happening the Thursday after weakling Wednesday. This hire was a Minnesota media influenced hire. The media which largely hates Gophers men's sports conveniently laid out a narrative just prior to the coaching hiring process. My belief is this may have...

Shama: Voices Need to Speak up for College Football Parity

The piece that will bring the most parity is when the players start getting paid. The Big Ten will probably be the first to do this, and when they do, that would imply a level of balance across all teams. Also, any time there has been an athletic league with paid players, a draft is the next...

Shama: Voices Need to Speak up for College Football Parity

Talent evaluation is an imperfect science, so even as the top 10 programs draw their first picks and give them large sums of cash, there are still more players who want to be starting QB who believe they are better than the players who were selected. The Hudson Card transferring to Purdue is an...

SI: Gophers' PJ Fleck: Without NIL money, we can't keep team intact

The only way any of our major companies get behind it is if it becomes a "One Minnesota" thing or a deal where not participating makes them a social outlier. To be frank, our state would be more likely to succeed at NIL if we decided to tax ourselves into support the Gophers NIL like we decide...

    Fleck prediction

What is your point of this question? If the answer is no, what? We're good? Or are you saying we need a better coach after every loss? If the answer is yes, are you just going to complain about something else?

SI: Gophers' PJ Fleck: Without NIL money, we can't keep team intact

By the way, on PJ's radio show today when asked about the transfer portal he said the transfer portal takes money. This reminder doesn't seem like it's going away.

SI: Gophers' PJ Fleck: Without NIL money, we can't keep team intact

I think someone is just guessing. I haven't seen anything anywhere.

My take on the Gopher football team today

They are going to need to go to divisions very soon. It will be evident potentially as early as next year when we have 4-5 teams tied for 2nd place with 2 losses each with very few common opponents between those tied teams.

SI: Gophers' PJ Fleck: Without NIL money, we can't keep team intact

You are on point. I think culturally Minnesota is different than the south when it comes to football. Football in SEC country is religion. If you are someone giving money to NIL in Louisiana, Texas, or Mississippi, you are revered in your community. If a major donor in Minnesota decided to...

    NIL question

NIL is the wild west right now. Some Universities, like MN ensure that a legitimate transaction takes place. (That it's not just pay-for-play). There needs to be money provided on on side of the transaction and a legitimate service provided on the other side in return for the money. These...

SI: Gophers' PJ Fleck: Without NIL money, we can't keep team intact

It's funny we have to post retorts to people who don't believe having Bucky Irving on the Gophers offense against Purdue could have had an impact on the game. That's just a really bold take and a conclusion the poster made on his own. Not something PJ said to take him down that path. The...

My take on the Gopher football team today

It's not logical. People who are angry will be angry no matter what. PJ isn't Margaret Thatcher, but the same rules apply. "If my critics saw me walking over the Thames they would say it was because I couldn't swim."

My take on the Gopher football team today

What's ironic about this all is we as fans have zero impact on the Twins / Vikings etc. Whether we sell out Twins games or not, we know the Twins aren't going to spend more than X% on payroll. Introduce the opportunity where Minnesota fans CAN have influence on an organization through NIL, and...

My take on the Gopher football team today

Not having your emotions tied to things you can not control is a sign of maturity or growth. You can still enjoy the sport, but understanding the unlikely hood of a Minnesota football team having multiple consecutive winnings seasons is unlikely because the vary laws of the came and the fabric...
