    Dual thread QB

To both fumble and throw interceptions? I don't think that is what the OP meant.

Florida Gators Coach Billy Napier's Buyout $26 Million - UPDATE: Other Coaching Hot Seats

I respect Dabo for not using the portal or playing big with NIL as I absolutely despise both and think they will ultimately destroy college football. That said, you cannot coach a top program and win without using them so he is sorta holding Clemson hostage.

Bringing in QB with only 1 year of eligibility

I guess we can just update each week and compare. My guess is that AK will have a better season statistically than Max but I do hope that I am wrong. As far watching him play - here are the youtube highlights. Rutgers basically looked like a Gopher team using the run to set up the pass and...

Bringing in QB with only 1 year of eligibility

The Gophers fell behind in 2023 by 2 scores - which forces coaches to change the playbook and makes them easier to defend. Now, I am not arguing that AK is all world or anything of the nature - I was very disappointed in him last season as well. But, we basically got an even swap skill-wise in...

Bringing in QB with only 1 year of eligibility

I think that would only be relevant if you do not believe in player growth over time. I think AK is likely a better player now than he was last year. I would also say that UNC is a worse team than they were last year.

Bringing in QB with only 1 year of eligibility

My comment would be: AK week 1: 15 - 24, 147 yards, 3TDs, 155.2 rating. I know, different schools and different opponents and all. But the important part is that AK will still have time left to develop while Max is 1 and done. Next year, we are back to the same 'Young Team' excuse. So if...

Bringing in QB with only 1 year of eligibility

I think we all can agree that QB is the most important position in the game. That said, if you bring in a portal player at QB - that player better be ready to step up and compete on Day 1. I hope Max can get it figured out quickly but if we finish with 5ish wins, was this move justified as it...

PJ Fleck Press Conference Videos - "gotta give NC a lot of credit...this is where you grow the most"

Don't give me any BS about growth - growth mattered in the old format where you had the same players for 4-5 years. We are in the era of every player being a FA on a 1 year contract and fans should no longer accept this as an excuse. PJ did a worse job of getting his players ready to compete...

***OFFICIAL NORTH CAROLINA AT MINNESOTA 2024 SEASON OPENER IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Ugly start to the season. Got to start with some higher % passes rather than giving him a poor route choice on 1st and a 3rd and long on his second pass attempt. That said, poorly thrown ball on 3rd.

Golden Gophers in the NFL - 2024 Season

I still remember the mid 2000's when we have MB3 in the NFL and pretty much every broadcast would mention how Minnesota produces great RB talent (this was when we have MB3, Maroney, and Gary Russell) and had dual 1000 yard rushers.

Jerry Kill gets job at Vanderbilt.

The current coach is 2-10, 5-7, and 2-10 in his 3 seasons. This will be unacceptable even at Vandy. I don't think Jerry is stepping in thinking he can do part time work for the next 4 years here - especially after coming off what most thought was a miracle job at NMSU. This is his way to get...

Jerry Kill gets job at Vanderbilt.

I would be looking over my shoulder if I was the current coach. I think it is pretty obvious that Jerry will take this assignment with the expectation that the current staff gets canned and they will put him in as head coach to keep stability in the program.

    The Final Straw

"the 12-team playoff is the worst of all" The 12-team playoff essentially cheapens the regular season by giving a do-over for the helmet schools that lose early - basically making college football no different than NCAA Basketball tournament. I realize some people like this - I prefer a case...

    The Final Straw

Yes, it was a better system. As it is, there are precisely 3 games that mattered this year (the 2 today and the championship game). Bowl season used to be interesting as it was a conversational event for people to speak about relative strengths of the conferences. Now, with opt outs and the...

B1G vs SEC bowl games 2023/24

That is due to Penix injury history. Based on skill out of the gate, he is probably on par with Williams. I think the team that gets Penix will be getting a star (assuming he does not have another knee injury). He gets it down through great decision making and accuracy vs. pure athletic...

    The Final Straw

I know people think this 12-team playoff will 'fix' college football...but what happens when: 1.) OSU plays MI in the final game of the season (both teams enter undefeated) 2.) OSU rematches MI in the B1G championship game THE NEXT GAME 3.) OSU and MI both meet for a 3rd time in the playoffs...

    2023-24 Other Bowl Games Thread

At some point - will the TV deals threaten to withhold money if stars sit out the bowl games? The tOSU game is painful to watch. NIL has done a lot to destroy college football balance of power - but, now it is making the product on the field unwatchable.

After 7 years - teams PJ has/hasnt beaten

USC is my 'other team' - they absolutely disappointed this year and gave up half way through the season. A lot of this was on Williams as he had literally nothing to prove and is already a millionaire and celebrity while still playing in college. The big issue they had were on defense and...

Can the Gophers find success in the new Big Ten?

The Gophers will have success - it just won't be on the football team. The increased revenue from TV contracts, etc will be pumped in to support non-revenue and women's (yes, a huge overlap there) sports. So, we will have elite women's hockey and rowing but likely a football programs that...

    College Football is Dead

I have to ask, what do you think the purpose of the college football playoffs are: A.) To find the best team at the end of the season (regular season is no longer meaningful, it is just how good you are at the end of the season)? B.) To find the best team over the course of the season (limited...
