PJ Fleck on beating Wisconsin after losing to Iowa: ...well we’ve beaten Wisconsin twice and you all wanted me fired last week.

Nothing was gaining by the public complaint. If anything, it likely further alienated some people. It wasn't a smart move, but that doesn't surprise me given the source.

PJ Fleck on beating Wisconsin after losing to Iowa: ...well we’ve beaten Wisconsin twice and you all wanted me fired last week.

 I think he's going to be fine. What I don't think is that PJ had any intent when complaining about people "wanting him fired" after last week other than getting a chip off his shoulder. I think that was an emotional slip up to publicly complain the way he did.

PJ Fleck on beating Wisconsin after losing to Iowa: ...well we’ve beaten Wisconsin twice and you all wanted me fired last week.

PJ's salary has been increasing from $3.5m a year when he started, to $5.1 at the end of his current extension, if what I read is accurate. It seems to reflect that standards, and expectations have been elevated. As far as the small proportion of the Gopher fanbase calling for him to be fired...

Athan grew up a lot today

Do you actually believe throwing 30 (29) times today was PJ/Kirk's game plan? My guess is that it was it more of an adjustment they embraced with once it was clear that Mo was beat up and ineffective?

Athan grew up a lot today

Actually, it's not. When we were continually running into 8 and 9 in the box defenses, we weren't "taking what the defense gave us". When your run-pass ratio is comparable with the service academies, it's probably not because all your opponents are forcing you to run he ball. It doesn't...

What grade would you give Athan Kaliakmanis in his first Axe game?

Oh come on. You either haven't been watching much this year, or there's some ulterior bias.

Athan grew up a lot today

It tends to help when a QB gets to throw more than once or twice a quarter.

Who is your Gopher MVP in HUGE win over wisconsin?

The QB play was so good today that there wasn't much of the usual grousing (typically deserved) about incompetent receivers.

I don't see a lot of upside with MBS. He's not physical, not particularly fast and too often tries to catch with his body. He's received college coaching and game time how many years? Let the next guys show what they can do.
