***OFFICIAL ILLINOIS AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Can't afford to shoot themselves in the foot right away like this. Ugly.

CBS: Where every team ranks in each state, from top to bottom (Minnesota: 1. Minnesota, 2. St Thomas)

Its hard to say but I don't see St Thomas being too much better than the D-2 teams this year and if they played in the NSIC they would probably lose some games. But they'll improve quickly bringing in D1 recruits and in a couple years they'll be easily above them.

Minnesota High School Football Section Championship Matchups

Lmao this isn't professional sports where everyone is on a roughly level playing field. Enrollment and demographics mean certain schools will never be able to give the biggest schools competitive games. Do you really want Eden Prairie to roll current 3A teams 105-0 when we smash them into the...

Minnesota High School Football Section Championship Matchups

Yeah had a few good years with gophers legend Moses Alipate in football and Cole Aldrich in basketball but for the most part were pretty weak. I think Kennedy had a couple state tournament teams in basketball as well. Current location in the Metro West is the most competitive they've been in...

Minnesota High School Football Section Championship Matchups

I went to Jefferson in the early 2010s when Jefferson and Kennedy were just punching bags for EP, Edina, Lakevilles, Prior Lake, Eagan etc. Took them about 10 years past being competitive to finally get out of that league.

***Exhibition Gameday Thread - New Look Gophers VS Concordia St.Paul****

You mean Western Kentucky? No I'd consider them a step up. I'd say Kansas City, Fort Wayne, Jacksonville, Green Bay, Corpus Christi and Alcorn. I think the Gophers are more talented than all those teams but not by a large enough margin that they can have a bad game and win like most years.

***Exhibition Gameday Thread - New Look Gophers VS Concordia St.Paul****

I bet we lose 1 to the "cupcakes" but that's ok. If they get through them undefeated I'd be pretty happy. If they lose more than 1 I'd be worried about going winless in the Big Ten.

***Exhibition Gameday Thread - New Look Gophers VS Concordia St.Paul****

Glad they won, was definitely a little worried before the game. Battle and Willis look like Big Ten level players, the rest of the team not so much, though Curry, Stephens, and Sutherlin were solid. Can Johns transfer today? He was definitely better than any Gopher big outside of Curry

    Bulldogs

No worries. St Cloud is right there, but Duluth has the championships and the tournament success, which is what matters. As far as I know, Sandelin is a Hibbing native and very loyal to UMD and didn't have any interest in the gophers job. In theory, he should be very familiar. In practice, not...

    Bulldogs

Yeah, if you can't fathom why players would want to go to a program that has been the top program in the country, and it's not particularly close, over the past 10 years than you are definitely living in the past. Even then, I would say the recruit caliber of both teams is pretty even, both...

Fox Sports: Oldest Active Basketball Arenas (Williams Arena, 93 Years)

Just moved to Boston so probably hitting Matthews and Lavietes this year. Got to see Hinkle when I was doing a college tour of Butler but haven't been to a game there. Obviously been to Williams. Old arenas are cool.

Ben Johnson's Gophers picked to finish 14th in the unofficial Big Ten men's hoops preseason media poll

I think it's possible they finish above NW and Penn State and I wouldn't be shocked, but I wouldn't pick them to.

STrib: Proctor HS football season canceled amid 'serious misconduct' investigation

I think they'll probably look for a short term transfer and then go all in on Chatman next year

    Meatsauce on KFAN

Seriously, you guys need to realize that 80%ish of that show is a bit with the exaggerated characters they play and 20% is them actually being real. Meatsauce doesn't hate the Gophers, he's being dramatic to get people to laugh/get worked up. That's what drives content for them. If you don't...
