***OFFICIAL WESTERN MICHIGAN AT MINNESOTA SEASON OPENING IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

There's also a VERY significant drop in college basketball experience after Battle/Cooper/Garcia. There were three freshman who were playing in their first ever collegiate game, and Thompson is a sophomore who really didn't play much last year. Off of a 1 game sample size, I'd be really hesitant...

***OFFICIAL WESTERN MICHIGAN AT MINNESOTA SEASON OPENING IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I think cooper looked great tonight. As a pass first point guard, to get 10 assists in a college game is always impressive, and adding in 2 more shooters will only help him.

***OFFICIAL WESTERN MICHIGAN AT MINNESOTA SEASON OPENING IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

For everyone freaking out - replace 35 minutes throughout the game of ramberg/henley/samuels with 35 minutes of Battle. That game looks completely differently. Win is a win is a win. Lots to improve, but saw some stuff I liked. Cooper and Garcia are legit above-average big 10 players. Freshmen...

***OFFICIAL WESTERN MICHIGAN AT MINNESOTA SEASON OPENING IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

JOJ looks much more talented than I expected. With his athleticism, ceiling is very high.

***OFFICIAL WESTERN MICHIGAN AT MINNESOTA SEASON OPENING IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Experience mostly. I kinda figured that the senior would at least have enough experience to do the little things in order to earn minutes early on, but that eventually the freshmen would pass him.

Not good when our point guard is leading in rebounds. If we're going to start both Thompson and Garcia, we should be getting every rebound.

***OFFICIAL WESTERN MICHIGAN AT MINNESOTA SEASON OPENING IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

yes, that's what I meant. If henley and ramberg are playing over samuels in game 1, i can't imagine samuels is gonna play much at all

Will be interesting who starts when Carrington is back, him or Henley. Also interesting to see that Henley has already beaten out Taurus Samuels

The 2022-23 Gopher basketball season will be a success if?...

If I have to pick numbers: 8-2 in non-conference, 8-12 in conference, so a winning record overall at 16-14. Mostly want to see freshman improve and look like guys that belong in the big 10. Been thrilled with Johnson’s recruiting so far, but recruiting doesn’t mean anything if you can’t turn...

***OFFICIAL WESTERN MICHIGAN AT MINNESOTA SEASON OPENING IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

It’s time!!!! No matter the expectations for the team, first day of the season is always so much fun. Finally getting to see all the new players, especially in these recent years where we have plenty of transfers and freshman always fills me with optimism. Let’s enjoy the season, and see some...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT NEBRASKA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

That’s fair. And the defense has earned that faith. Just feels a bit wrong when you’re asking Mo to put his body on the line with an absurd workload, game after game, after coming off of a brutal injury, and you don’t have trust in him. I think he personally has earned the right to ask for the...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT NEBRASKA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

For PJ to see how badly Mo wanted to go for it, after asking him to carry the ball 30+ times today and then not having faith in him to pick up half a yard is ridiculous. Have a little faith in your players, and go out and win the damn game. So soft.

STrib: Amir Coffey keeps making Gophers proud as his stock rises in NBA with L.A. Clippers

Got a chance for a ring though! Clippers are gonna be a good team, he’s getting paid 11 mil, he has familiarity with the system, and a chance to compete and continue to grow his game. Or maybe he just likes the city of LA lol

    DENNIS EVANS A GOPHER!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, there’s guys like Luka Garza, but there’s also guys like Jonathan Isaac, who averaged 12/7 in 1 year of college and went 6th overall. It’s not all about talent. NBA players have to fit a certain play style, and I think that is what people see in Evans, is a tall, athletic, player with a...

Gophers among favorites to land 4-star 2023 center Dennis Evans

Like him even more after the video. Seems very mature for a high school kid, and incredibly talented. What a great get.

Gophers among favorites to land 4-star 2023 center Dennis Evans

My (completely uneducated) guess is that Evans most likely path would be similar to the Oturu route, 2 years to put on some weight, develop an outside game, and then off to the NBA.

Gophers to play in 2023 Las Vegas Main Event

Assuming this means we’ll play 2/3 of those teams? A 4 team bracket type of thing?

***OFFICIAL PURDUE AT MINNESOTA HOMECOMING IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Kinda scared with all the hype the gophers have been getting this past week. Let’s put it away early, Purdue can score, would rather not have them jump out to an early lead since I don’t think we’ve had to play from behind yet.

    Single Game Tailgating

Hi all. I’m going to be in Minnesota for the Iowa game, and was hoping to tailgate for it. As a recent grad, we never really “actually” tailgated, and mostly stuck to bars/houses, and I have no idea how getting a tailgate spot works. Is there a way to get single game tailgate spots? Is the...

Big Ten Tailgate Coming for Homecoming

If you’re willing to count como as close enough to campus, blue door is my pick. Maybe it was cause we always had a few (or a lot) of beers as well, but I always loved station 280 too.
