There isn’t much doubt that - on average, people are more interested in those teams. I can’t help wonder if the viewership numbers aren’t elevated some due to those teams always being televised. How can’t a team like Notre Dame have a high number of people watching if they’re on every Saturday.

We’ve done well in the portal over the past ten years or so. My concern is NIL will change it so, going forward, we’ll pick up the better lower level players but lose a larger portion of our better players to NIL. I think a case can be made that it’s already started.

I’d be more inclined to agree if we could find a way to stop them from stealing our talent while we steal from the lower levels.

A couple months ago I watched a buddy of mine play in Daytona Beach. The rink was in a shopping mall and the upper level served beer. Smelled like every other rink I’ve ever been in.
