Charlotte transfer WR Elijah Spencer commits to Gophers

I’d like to think they’ll stay but MBS and possibly the younger guys could bolt. And worst case scenario if either do leave, Spencer and Crooms are probably an upgrade anyways so it’d still be a net gain.

Charlotte transfer WR Elijah Spencer commits to Gophers

Where does this WR room rank in the Big Ten next year behind OSU? Spencer, Crooms, Crab, Wright, Jackson, Brockington, MBS* And that makes not even counting BSF and the other TE’s and RB’s.

Charlotte transfer WR Elijah Spencer commits to Gophers

This is one of the bigger commits of the Fleck era and probably the biggest transfer he’s ever landed. Just a massive commitment. Had SEC interest.

Receiver room looks great next year

He wasn’t that good before that point either. In fact he’s definitely been better since that point.

Receiver room looks great next year

If we land Chartlotte WR transfer Elijah Spencer who is on an OV right now and no one else transfers out, or at least the major contributors, that would give us the best WR room in the West and outside of OSU, one of the best in the entire conference. Would easily be our best non...

Receiver room looks great next year

I'd would argue over the last two years, when we actually decide to throw to him, he has the highest positive outcome percentage in that room meaning catch or PI drawn. He just hasn't been thrown to that often.

WR Corey Crooms Commits to Gophers!

Crooms is a big time addition not a "medium size fish", he was second team All MAC. Having back to back years of 750+ yards and 5+ TD's at the FBS level is really good. Crooms is the caliber of player that could have pushed us over the top from West contenders to West favorites last year. He...

Western Michigan transfer LB Ryan Selig commits to Gophers

Forgot to add Kyler Baugh, he was very good for us this year from Houston Baptist.

Western Michigan transfer LB Ryan Selig commits to Gophers

Some have already addressed this but I’ll reiterate. Jack Gibbens from Abilene Christian was excellent for us and just got activated to the towns 53 man roster. Selig was a two year starter and good player at WMU and had offers from ISU, IU, Wake Forrest and heavy interest from Iowa. Crooms...

After the Cooper commit: Constructing the roster.

How do you know Payne is better than him? I think Ihnen and Fox come close to splitting minutes and then Payne will have to battle Treyton for the backup 5 minutes which will be less than 10. Even though he wasn’t shooting great, Ihnen has always been very very effective at getting offensive...

    2022 Transfer Portal Discussion

I understand it goes both ways but like I said, the higher end schools are going to get the better end of the deal a lot more compared to the lower end schools.

    2022 Transfer Portal Discussion

I’d be happy with Cooper as the point, Strong at the 2 and McIntosh as the combo guard off the bench. I think I like Strong a tad more over Stewart, 41% from 3 and MVC players translate well to the P5 level (Liam, Reggie, Mikyke McIntosh from ISU to Oregon off the top of my head) although they...

    2022 Transfer Portal Discussion

But the players that are transferring down are the ones yet aren’t god enough to play at the blue bloods and P5 level and the ones that are good enough are going up to that level. So the blue bloods and other P5 schools are always going to get the better end of the deal compared to the mid and...

    All-Star Games thread

I think the senior bowl just divies them up as they see fit to create the most fair, competitive game.

Ball State kicker PWO transfer Jacob Lewis

He is a career 5/5 on 45+ yarders. Will be a nice compliment to Trickett next year and then full time starter the next two years.

Official 2022 Roster Status - Who is Returning and who is Leaving

Surgers started 8 games for an SEC team (albeit a bad one) and had nearly double the amount of tackles. PFF grades are also very close as well, within a point. I’ll say I’d probably rather have (a fully bought in) Cheyney over Jeffries though and Smith is a guy I think we’d have taken either way.

All-Ivy League Harvard DT Chris Smith commits

Smith’s own Twitter has him at 1 year of eligibility. He never redshirted.

    New OL commit

After Martin left we mostly had a 3 man rotation.

    New OL commit

I agree Martin provided solid depth although its probably a wash between him and Schad who likely would have still been here if we didn’t take Martin.

    New OL commit

Pinckney and Carter were pretty interchangeable and played both 3-tech and 1.
