    The headline Sunday will read?...

Above the fold - in depth articles on how both the new Vikings longsnapper and kicker will be put to an ultimate test against that NFL behemoth Jacksonville. Below the fold - "Gophers Handle Rutgers Easily" - "Fleck to become a new Vikings Assistant?"

    Brosmer is not a stud.

IMO - "great deep throwers" are pretty rare, especially in college. Been following the Gophers since the 1960's and I am hard-pressed to recall any QB who could be described as such. Weber or Hohensee might come the closest.

    First CFP Ranking Released Nov.5

Syracuse is 6-2 (but have beaten no one) Arizona St is 6-2 (also beaten no one)

    Bielema being Bielema...

From my vantage point (the couch), it seems the refs were letting a ton of stuff go on both sides. Was mentioned several times by the broadcasters. Which is fine if both teams adjust for it. One could see holding (on both the offense and the defense) on nearly every replay, yet I do not think...

Who is your Gopher MVP in the dominant win over Maryland?

Wish we had him for another year - the Greek Gopher/Cole Kramer were not able to get him the ball in 2023.

Who are your four favorite Gophers running backs?

FWIW - don't know why I remember such things, but once read that former President Gerald Ford (U of Mich 1934 MVP) said that Pug Lund was the best player he ever competed against.

    2025 Road game

The game at Cal could be fun. Spend some time in SF beforehand - or even a Napa Valley tour. Regarding an OSU trip? FWIW - here is my report from last year's game: If you have never been to Ohio Stadium, it might be worth one visit for the “experience.” I have gone to several games over the...

When was the last time ?

Thought that Penn State was #1 when we beat them in Happy Valley 1999, but AP says #2. (Maybe the coaches poll?) Going way back, we defeated #1 Iowa at home in 1960 (we were #3 at the time) - our last national championship year

POST GAME THREAD: GOPHERS BEAT USC!!!

For those of you who (like myself) enjoy an opposing team youtube meltdown, especially when a "blue blood" is involved.

With non-conference schedule over, the Gophers are?

UNC game was too early in the season to get a good assessment, the last two games against inferior teams have not provided much of a predictor for Big Ten play either. So, where are we? - I still don't know.

Where is Floyd of Rosedale Kept?

Looking to get a picture of myself next to Floyd of Rosedale - anyone know where it is kept? And if photo opportunities are available (even if it is within a glass case)? Any chance it makes an appearance for a day or two at the fair?

    Darius Taylor M____M Jersey

Those M_M uniforms have been so universally ridiculed that they are now cult favorites. (Sort of like "something becomes popular because it is soooo bad")

YouTube: Top 20 Plays in the PJ Fleck Era Countdown - numbers 4, 3 and 2

Number 4 - Number 3 (cheating a bit, actually two plays) - Number 2 - (forgotten about this one) - Only the top one to go

YouTube: Gopher Football Top 20 Plays of the PJ Fleck Era (#5)

After getting the plays in groups of 5 on youtube, it looks as if there will be a single play countdown on the road to the number 1 selection. Today's is a great one -

CBS: Big Ten stadium rankings (10. Minnesota - Huntington Bank Stadium)

While ranking on "atmosphere" is rather vague, one aspect of a stadium that I value as much as any is comfort level of my seat. Maybe I am getting old, but my ability to sit in my own seat without being crowded or elbowed out certainly adds to my enjoyment. I have attended games at both...

What is the biggest comeback in school history?

I think this past Saturday's 23 point comeback win against PSU is the largest in not only barn history, but the entire Gopher program. Now unless I am reading this wrong (and I do not always take everything written on Wikipedia as gospel), this Wiki web page indicates that the 23 point comeback...

***OFFICIAL PENN ST AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

While I am mostly sure it is just a combination of better defense, coincidence and a function of "things even out over time" when it comes down to three-point shooting, but there is an interesting dynamic regarding which end of the court the shots are taken. PSU shot 9-13 (first half), the...

What do you miss most about Gopher games at the Metrodome?

Non-gopher related, but certainly a very emotional, memorable event. In the mid-1980's the AIDS quilts came to the Metrodome. The entire field was covered in quilts and the general public was allowed to walk out among all these beautifully hand-crafted items. All the while, PA announcers...

What do you miss most about Gopher games at the Metrodome?

If recall, the Metrodome was one of the first stadiums in the Big Ten where you could actually buy a beer (not have to sneak it in) - does seem to control the amount of booze people drink more than anything else. (Sneaking in a flask of hard liquor - no one sneaks in wine or beer - causes a lot...

    Tollackson Stepping Down

One of my favorite comments by the legendary announcer Ray Christensen went roughly like this: "I think I remember one call many years ago against Purdue that Gene Keady did not challenge, but it could be my mind playing tricks on me."
