Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh reportedly interviewing with the Vikings

1/16/2022: Michigan fires their president for sexual inappropriateness 2/2(?)/2022: Michigan football coach officially quits That's a lot of crap for the administration of a major university to deal with in a short time

Columbus Post-Dispatch: Violence erupted 50 years ago when Ohio State played Minnesota in basketball; careers and lives ruined

Didn't know that "Sweet Georgia Brown" (Globetrotters Theme) could be classified as "a steady beat of heavy rock music."

Michigan President Fired for Inappropriate Relationship with Subordinate

Many of the sexual abuse scandals over the last few years (Penn State, MSU (including US Women's Gymnastics), USC, etc. were discovered when those abused had a public platform of sorts to voice their experiences. It is very scary and sobering to think of the countless abuses that have occurred...

Michigan President Fired for Inappropriate Relationship with Subordinate

https://www.startribune.com/u-of-michigan-reaches-490m-settlement-over-sexual-abuse/600137289/ U of Michigan certainly is in the wrong spotlight this week - while the Schlissel story is amusing for its stupidity, this story is a nightmare. Over a 1000 people sexually abused by this University...

Michigan President Fired for Inappropriate Relationship with Subordinate

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/16/us/mark-schlissel-fired.html While slightly OT - if all Jim Harbaugh is looking for is a nice extension (instead of an NFL move), timing might be good to ask now. The last thing Michigan needs at this moment (after this administrative mess) is to lose its...

Weeds: Dark memory of Gopher brawl

While I do not want to have this devolve into an argument about who started who back in the 70's - I would trend lightly on the notion that "everyone in the Big Ten was pissed at Musselman because he started 4 African-Americans...." Michigan (at least, maybe others) routinely started 3 blacks...

Weeds: Dark memory of Gopher brawl

I listened to the game as well. Glad I did not see it live, only via the videos. Many ramifications that my OSU friends have not forgotten - standout OSU Coach Fred Taylor never really recovered from the incident (he felt no support and that the university, Big Ten and NCAA did not come down...

Five years ago today, P.J. Fleck was named Gophers football head coach! What is your favorite football memory since then?!

Penn State - Not only the last 5 years, but for me the best moment in the last 40 years. I was on the field afterwards - rare moments of true euphoria can be few and far between, my wife has rarely seen me that happy in 30 years of marriage.

Official 2022 Roster Status - Who is Returning and who is Leaving

Don't disagree - but it also helps that once a player like Faalele is playing, the pro scouts are going to be in the stands. And even though there is ample film on everyone these days, nothing like seeing the players live.

    2021 Other Bowl Games Thread

Without being too snarky, can anyone say why a very minor Texas Bowl is being played tonight? Why wasn’t this squeezed into a slot last week? Other than some marginal interest from the teams playing, hasn’t everyone moved on?

    2021 Other Bowl Games Thread

I keep flipping back and forth between Iowa and PSU hoping that one of them will eventually stop imploding (I will always root for any B1G team against any SEC team, even if it is IA or WI) - finally had to turn the TV off. Nauseating.....

Give a bold prediction for 2022 Gopher Football

Despite being “healthy,” Ibrahim shares the ball equally with Irving and Thomas (Achilles injuries are very difficult for an RB to recover from). Potts and Williams are unable or choose not to play in 2022. Ends up being no issues with lack of playing time.

Kind of late to cancel - especially assuming Alcorn St was already in Minneapolis?

Media Prediction Thread: Minnesota vs West Virginia

These guys don't give an actual score, but do not like WVU's chances. (And very amused at how the betting line had moved around.) Was recorded over a week ago and predicted that Leddie Brown would not be playing.

Where the MN Kids Signed: From Strib

We are always going to lose a guy or two to the Stanfords of the world - probably heard via recruiting channels of his general intent and may have made a "soft" offer, but did not pursue too heavily (his "visit" was almost 2 years ago)

All Things P.J. Fleck Rumor Mill Thread - Listed as Candidate for Other Jobs

https://www.startribune.com/urban-meyer-josh-lambo-jacksonville-jaguars-fired-missteps/600127592/ Good example of why Fleck should never get a pro head coaching job: "Meyer's biggest issues came off the field, where he tried to handle a professional team like he was on a college campus. He...
