Purdue also couldn’t guard a mid major. Still is a lack of lateral quickness that will limit them.

PP: Gophers guard Cam Christie contending for Big Ten freshman of the year

Freeman will be hard to beat. 8 time freshman of the week. He’s putting up numbers similar to Garza’s freshmen numbers.

players from out state, smaller towns have seemed less likely to leave the state for greener pastures than inner city or suburban kids.

    Question on Asuma’s teammates

Noah is a great player, but he plays inside as they have little height. he really has a sf game, and at 6-2 he is probably a div 2 player. Shoots it ok from 3, ok ball handler.

Jamison Transferred To OSU So That He Could Experience March Madness Oh! Oh!

Battle as a 6th man scorer is the only way I see him helping this team. I don’t think his ego would allow that. Addition by subtraction. Nothing against him.

    Ihmir Smith-Marsette Commits

For an NFL player I don’t think that would make the top 50 offenses.

    Enjoying Gopher Basketball

As we have played bigger and better teams his lack of a big ten body has hurt him, especially when he plays the three. He’s not the only one we are underweight at many positions. Kids fall in love with the weights this summer!

All Things Isaac Asuma Recruitment Thread (Class of 2024, Minnesota's Top In-State Target)

Assuma is a bit like Devoe Joseph 6-3 pg who isn’t super quick but can change pace and get to the rim or stop for 15ft 2’s. Assuma might already be bigger than Joseph weight wise. I don’t remember if he was great from 3. He became all pac 12 at Oregon.

All Things Isaac Asuma Recruitment Thread (Class of 2024, Minnesota's Top In-State Target)

He’s as athletic as Eric Harris, a 6-3 PG who got us to the final four. Hawkins is one of the 2-3 fastest players in the big ten. He is also one of the smallest. Assuma will give the coach more options even if you play him along side Hawkins, he is bigger than Mitchell. elite athletic pg’s...

***OFFICIAL wisconsin AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Other than Payne, the rest of the team is all finesse. Especially the guards. Not built for big ten.

    3s

If we started making some the other teams would try to defend it better. the last few games they smile every time we launch another brick.

    3s

Iowa was more than happy to leave us open on the three with no passing, no cutting, no picks, they saved all their energy for the offensive end. Why Garcia should ever shoot another three, unless it’s a post pass back to him for three, is beyond me. lazy offense and no worry that a player will...

    Asuma (Cherry) vs Perich (Esko)

Did Noah grow sine last year. If he stays at 6 or 6-1; and he doesnt seem to run the point; I am not sure he’d be a high prospect. He does look thicker than his brother at that age, or even now.

The Fox is on the loose!

0-6 against big ten teams. I’m not saying he shouldn’t play; I just think Fox does so much more.

The Fox is on the loose!

Can anyone explain why one would give Ihnen more minutes than Fox! The only skill Ihnen has that’s better is streaky 3 pt shooting. Fox is a better rebounder, defender, and passer. I mean maybe you play Fox with Garcia, and Ihnen with Payne, to have 1 post who can shoot.

Non-conference is now over, how many total B10 Ws do we end up with?

I voted 8. The good coaches in our league will post up our guards if it’s Hawkins and Mitchell starting together. B1G tends to have slower play, less running, and a reliance on execution and making shots. We have better shooter than years past, multiple ball handlers, and good depth. The...

You could but he wasn't a good rebounder or help defender.

I wish Battle had a post up game? We had no counter when other teams put a quick little guard on him.

Gophers #112 in initial KenPom rankings

Michigan state is stuggling because they have two returning 40% 3 pt shooters who are on incredibly bad cold streaks. I personally watched them cut it to 3 a few times in the final minutes against Arizona. Walker shot 41% last year, is at 33% this year. Akins went from 42 to 29. Hoggard shot...
