    Payne, Carrington, Ola-Joseph and Ihnen...

I’m pretty sure BJ was being asked about roster balance and his lack of shooting guards. And he said if Ihnen wasn’t hurt he would be his 2. So he could have been honest and said he had an unbalanced roster, or he could say something crazy like Ihnen was his 2. He didn’t say he could shoot...

    Payne, Carrington, Ola-Joseph and Ihnen...

It’s a bit sad we suffered with all that losing to play those freshmen in hopes they’d pan out later in their career, to now have that whole class leave!

Remember when BJ was saying Ihnen could be a 2?

“Nobody roots for Goliath’s”. .. Wilt Chamberlain UConn biggest starter sets a pick on Iowa’s smallest player. The ref behind the screen sees Gabby flail and calls it. I was rooting for Iowa but didn’t want them to win that way.

Dawson Garcia will return to Minnesota next season!!!

It makes the coach look better. He is hindered by a lack of NIL compared to other schools?

Coach Johnson: “NIL is recruiting now. We all need to understand that.”

Some coaches and admins saw this coming two years ago. fleck was able to keep hib best players.

Dain Dainja in portal. Would fill in nicely for PP!

Underwood should have started Dainja against UConn! Clingan ate the 6-10 210lb Hawkins for Lunch!

Wow: Men's Basketball is 13th Most Popular Gophers Team for NIL Contracts at the U

It should bother us all as they stated the hiring of BJ was partly because of his relationship with mn high school players.

Mbakwe was 11 years ago, Oturu and Robbin’s were finesse players. My point Is Payne was a monster on a team that has been undersized weight wise muscle wise for decades. Maybe they will find a 6-10 230lb guy who can give you 10 pts, 5 reb. It’s way more than those stats. Just the number...

When we don’t sign a 6-9 255lb physical presence you will see why I said Irreplaceable for the gophers. We haven’t had a few physical players since the final four team, it’s been a huge weakness in the big ten. We run out finesse players year after year.

You will see next year how you under rated his defense, physical presence, we now have none, and shot blocking helped our guards. He is irreplaceable and almost every team in the country would love to get him!

Morgan would be a nice get but no replacement for Payne’s rebounding and defense.

I have zero confidence BJ can find a big as good as Payne! You can find quality guards on most mid major rosters. Our only hope is another former top prospect MN high schooler wants to come home. And the only one I could think of is Dainja.

2024 MN High School Basketball State Tournaments

Assuma is 6-3 and at least 185. He will be a nice option at either guard spot. Mitchell is pretty undersized as a SG.

    All Metro BB Team

If Johnson was interested; that’s a huge miss. I love his game. Built like Mbakwe but can handle it like a wing.

Hallman: Minnesota AD checked our box—he hired a Black coach. Now the question we ask is will Johnson be given the time and support to succeed

If race played a role in the hire; was Johnson the only African American candidate, and if not, did others have any head coaching experience?

Anybody else watch 6-7 Johnson of Totino and feel he’s a better prospect than McAndrew? I also saw him carry Totino past Park Center.
