Gophers Loaded with Up and Coming Talent

My glass will be half full when we have multiple successful NCAA runs like Wisconsin does with half the starters from Minnesota.

Gophers Loaded with Up and Coming Talent

That sounds exciting too bad rebounding out of a a zone is much harder and we already are bad at it. I just watched g tech play a 1-3-1 against my wife's Hawkeyes team. Tech gave up 20 off rebounds. Murray had 20 total alone.

Gophers Loaded with Up and Coming Talent

The biggest issue right now is roster construction. Can you imagine if those other 2 forwards were healthy? 1 post player, 2 guards, and about 8 forwards!

Will the Gopher offense morph for Athan?

The big change I want to see is throwing the ball a lot even against the teams we can run down there throat on! So we have practice throwing it for when we play teams with great defensive lines, that we aren’t getting rushing yards on, that we are good at passing the ball.

What is wrong with this team?

6-7 plus players at the 2 in college are NBA lottery players. I hope he wasn’t that demented in his thinking! Even Coffey came in as a sf who eventually gained the strength to handle the ball like a 2 guard should. No matter how we label the positions we have a bunch of guys without the...

What is wrong with this team?

Last year we had mid major SR's who were giving it there all to play at this level! Battle is struggling against small forward matchups and his step back 3 is off. You could try Cooper with Carrngton, Henley with Battle, with Payne in the middle and run everything through Payne unrtil Battle...

This team is fun on paper, but why does it look so bad? | Gopherhole

If everyone returns next season, and Ben can recruit 1 quick player under 6-4 who can contribute, especially on defense,I think we have a chance to have a winning B 1 G record. Again we will be even more frontcourt heavy if the two injured guys return. Carrington looked quicker this game to...

This team is fun on paper, but why does it look so bad? | Gopherhole

They are a decent team that beat Washington at Washington. Most of the big ten would probably crush them, I agree, that’s why we are picked to be in the bottoms 3 teams in the league. For us it was a decent measure of where this young team is at. On another note, anyone sick of all the...

This team is fun on paper, but why does it look so bad? | Gopherhole

Last years team was filled with guards lacking athleticism but had tons of smarts and intangibles. They did move the ball well. Cooper is a great pg but this young team will not look like last years team, even then they can improve at moving the ball.

Player & Team Grades after 4 games

Too young of a team to push the pace. If Battle was healthy I could see us averaging 66-68 peg so far. Team is long but slow. JOJ and Henley are the only players with above average lateral quickness. That being said the fr class looks talented amd I will try and be patient with the youth...

"Minnesota consistently has a really good player, that is surrounded by a mediocre to below-average roster."

If Willis had another year with this front court we could sniff the NCAA's. This team really has some underwhelming guards. I hope they prove me wrong;. Guards win basketball games, while a bad front court can just lose them.

Johnson says Isaiah Ihnen would've likely started at the 2

Ihnen playing the 2 was just a dumb comment or a statement about how weak we are at guard. Inhen probably has improved he has gotten stronger and more physical to play his stretch 4 spot. He was the 17th rated PF in that 2019 class. I don't recall the bio saying he would become a nice college 2.

Johnson says Isaiah Ihnen would've likely started at the 2

Neither Battle, nor Ihnen can play the 2. Battle mostly played the stretch 4 last year.

Johnson says Isaiah Ihnen would've likely started at the 2

if Ihnen was starting at the 2, it was because of the failure to bring in a higher rated transfer or recruit. I like Carrington as a top 300 player who could push for playing time by his jr year on a good team. But non top 100 fr guards starting in the power 5 isn't the recipe for a great season.

Grassroots Sizzle Director says why Suggs & Holmgren didn't commit to Gophers | Full interview

They didn’t commit because nearly all top 10 players don’t commit to their home state unless said team is a blue blood. It’s been that way for over a decade.

Defensive ends in a 3-4 are typically 290+ lbs. hunter is a pass rushing Olb!

All Things Boys MSHSL State Tournament

I live in Colorado where the teams all get seeded, those two would have met in a final four here. I can't image doing regions as there are two main counties of basketball riches. The metro teams of Denver and Aurora. Then the money schools in the south suburbs. Usually 8-9 of the top 10...

All Things 2022 Minnesota Vikings Off-Season Thread

Tampa Bay's all pro lib'ers in a 3-4 are 235 lbs. I think hunter will be just fine at olb, he will still rush the passer a very high percent of the time.

***OFFICIAL PURDUE AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Offensively TT is really a stretch 4! I definitely saw some outside shooting and drives drives to the basket against those big centers of Purdue. Can't wait for another 20 lbs.
