***OFFICIAL ILLINOIS AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I We gave up almost 100 points. Their guards had no pressure all game and were making any pass they wanted, driving to the lane, hitting late contested shots, and making our guards look like cardboard cut-outs. Hitting shots had nothing to do with this loss.

Starting Lineup and Minutes the Rest of the Way

I agree with your comments and how you highlighted "disciplined and ball movement". Ball movement is critical to create lanes for driving to the basket. All too often we fall into the pattern of "Guy with ball dribbles and looks to drive, gets cut-off, dribbles and passes to guy #2" ... "Guy #2...

Poll: Where is Marcus Carr most likely to play in 2021-2022?

Your right about Iowa and Purdue ... He hit some huge shots in those 2 games. Also of note for those 2 games, Brandon went off against Iowa and Gabe had a good game with 3 key 2nd-half 3's against Purdue. It wasn't as if he carried the team on his own.

Poll: Where is Marcus Carr most likely to play in 2021-2022?

The two I can think of are the Michigan and Ohio State home wins. He had really good games, but he wasn't the leading scorer or hit a last minute shot.

Back to 17 wins to be “completely safe” heading to BTT

In the league, Maryland is ranked 3rd in defense. Indiana held Iowa to 69 when they won at Carver. That was Iowa's lowest point total for the year until Indiana held them to 65 at home. We've had some good defensive games, but I don't recall any of them being on the road.

Back to 17 wins to be “completely safe” heading to BTT

You can develop a great defense a lot quicker than offensive skills. Anyone can play defense. It takes effort and communications. It takes a connected team effort. Also, one of the best ways to score easy baskets is to get out in transition. What leads to fast breaks? Defensive rebounds and...

    Next Gopher Head Coach

I don't really have a name to throw into the conversation, but I would get excited to have a coach that can clearly communicate the identity and culture of the team, plus show how they've accomplished it in their last job ... What is expected on defensive - What is expected on offense - What is...

Gabe Kalscheur is OUT indefinitely with a broken hand

You’re a dip-stick for a horses ass ... and no reason to explain why!

Gave up 67% in 2nd half... hold it to 50% (which is high) and probably win. Looking at the wrong end of the court. Defense has to win some games.

Indiana shot 67% in 2nd half ...can you do that in an empty gym?

This was a defensive loss not offensive ... look at Indiana’s shooting percentages ... score 10 give up 12 will always result in a a loss

    It’s not the 2021/2022 tickets ... it’s the 2021/2022 AND 2022/2023 tickets.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT INDIANA IN-GAME THREAD***

The last time Indiana scored over 80 in regulation was against University of Northern Alabama in December. This was not an offensive loss ... too much emphasis looking at the offensive end when defensive is much more important to control.

Gabe Kalscheur is OUT indefinitely with a broken hand

it’s actually better to keep you’re opponent from scoring than focusing on out scoring them. Proven to be more successful as well. Just score more than you give up ... keep it simple.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT INDIANA IN-GAME THREAD***

We gave up 82 ... who cares about how many 3s you hit ... when you give up over 80 you’re likely to loose. And it’s not just on the Bigs ... in the 2nd half, far too many times the guards had little trouble making entry passes and got good looks from three. None of this shows up in the box...

82 points is too many to give up and win. I was curious to see what they’d do on defense because IU is not a very dynamic offensive team. Didn’t do enough.

With Pitino, have you ever said to yourself watching a game ... “that’s an interesting twist that takes advantage of our strengths and exposes their weaknesses”.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MARYLAND VALENTINES DAY IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

That was a really weird game ... offense had almost no flow and guys just putting up shots like it was played at the YMCA. Defense was pretty much YMCA level too. Guys hit some shots to get closer than I thought possible and then Marcus comes back in to kill any chance. To be clear, I am not...

    Jim Jackson out coaching Pitino

You really have to do that by watching the possessions for each game ... I remember specifically against OSU, Gabe was guarding Washington and he was getting nothing. Gabe went to the bench and Washington immediately went for 2-3 threes over Marcus.
