Power 5 AD in New York this week said a specific 8-team playoff model is circulating around the CFB

Partially correct. Committees did not meet. Coaches had a poll and the AP had a poll, and they chose the national champion. who liked this system? Bowls, schools and the media. Who didn't? The fans. What did the fans want? A playoff. Today is similar to the old system, because it...

Power 5 AD in New York this week said a specific 8-team playoff model is circulating around the CFB

GTFO!!! You don't want to go to a playoff game here? Then watch it at home. We don't need you.

Power 5 AD in New York this week said a specific 8-team playoff model is circulating around the CFB

It has always been fan driven, not media or NCAA driven. The amazing thing was that the obvious increase in money was ignored. The old system of bowls worked just fine for the moneyed interests. The playoffs is about the fans not being satisfied with the insane process that only CFB and...

Power 5 AD in New York this week said a specific 8-team playoff model is circulating around the CFB

Then go back to the old system, and vote on a national champion after the bowl games. This is the ultimate no brainer. The eye test is not very good. Most SEC teams don't leave their state until conference season. The relative strength of conferences can be obvoius in some years. But it...

Possibilities, Probabilities and Where We Really Stand

Anything's possible. We have great facilities and our own stadium. Mason always pointed to those as huge obstacles. And I think not getting the OSU job took some of the life out of him. 2019 to me feels like we got more success much earlier than thought. We are still way early in...

Possibilities, Probabilities and Where We Really Stand

I agree. That's all I'm saying. And the best proof for why I'm right is that their own fans are frustrated.

Possibilities, Probabilities and Where We Really Stand

They can’t get over the hump. I’m not minimizing their success. Just pointing out the facts. Very good for 25 years. Occasionally great.

Possibilities, Probabilities and Where We Really Stand

Wisconsin has been a good with flashes of great program for 25 years. They've never been able to take the leap. Even when they had Russell Wilson and an NFL line and RBs. At some point, you wonder if their model has maxed out. We can have a different model with a different ceiling.

These 3 Big Ten teams could have a Northwestern-like fall in 2020 (Iowa, MSU, Minnesota)

Our defense wasn't great this year. Just ok. Returning our entire Oline makes me think our offense will be quite a bit better next year. Is it crazy to think our defense will make the leap next year that our offense did this year? The HUGE question on offense was our oline. Because...

    Stadium Expansion...

This is my main concern. Would a third level have it's own separate concourse with concession and bathrooms? If so, I'm in favor. Even a third deck just above the colored seats between the 20s could take some of the congestion off the main level if there were separate bathrooms.

That’s great news (or much better than some alternatives). Smaller of the shin bones. Should be no long term issue. I could tell he was pointing to his shin or upper ankle but everyone seemed to think knee so I was nervous.

Reusse: Fleck realizes you can fool most of the people some of the time, and Gophers fans nearly all of the time

If PJ did what Pat wants: PJ would say: I made an awful decision to punt. I was out coached. I didn’t have the team prepared. Etc. a) if might not be honest. B) who does that help? It makes Pat feel better. It makes Pj look weak and unsure of himself. About the only thing I wish he’d...

As I rewatch this dreadful game...my amateur analysis:

I think you’re wrong. He’s improved immensely, and he’s really our only OL who simply cannot be overpowered by anyone. Including Chase Young who I would have loved to see him go against. Now, Chase could beat him in other ways, but his power and strength are unmatched.

Speaking of Mo, what was the injury? Couldn't tell at the game. Has anyone talked about it, or was it clear on replay?

As I rewatch this dreadful game...my amateur analysis:

yes, but if all their LBs are blitzing, sneaking a RB out for a quick dump pass can be really effective. He essentially lines up to block the LB and lets him go. I have no doubt it would have been effective, but we haven't done it all year.

As I rewatch this dreadful game...my amateur analysis:

For as much talk we heard in the offseason about using the RBs in the passing game, we never did all year. Wisconsin countered our selling out to stop the run and heavy blitzes with screens and passing to the RBs. We apparently don't have that yet. The counter plays that we'd need to...

    Turned away with parking pass?

I park in lot 37. Sometimes I come early and tailgate, and sometimes I can't. It's up to the crew to know how many cars have passes and how many spots there are, and they are the ones who usher people in to spots.
