Interesting. Didn't Janel M lose a bunch of weight prior to joining the Gophers? Also Destinee mentioned that coaches told her that they want to employ more of a high-low post action offense. That would suggest the need for a few more portal transfers?

As of today (April 20) Raoul listed 1147 from D1 schools in the transfer portal. The B1G had 13 transfer in, 45 transfer out. Northwestern had none in or out (NU wasn't listed). IL 2-6, IN 3-2, IA 0-2 MD 3-5, Mich 1-1, MSU 1-1, MN 1-7, NE 0-3, OSU 1-3, PSU 0-4, Purdue 0-7, Rutgers 0-3, WI 1-1.

One MN player not coming home: Taylor Brown (Lakeville) from American to North Dakota State. I don't think she would have been on the Gophers radar.

Well with defections from OH and MD, adding Scalia and Parrish, they certainly improved their chances. But prior to seeing other moves, it looks really good for Hawkeyes.

This transfer portal process is quite intriguing. Does this mean someone on the IN roster will enter the portal seeing she just lost out on playing time? Certainly looks like IN will be a strong candidate to win the B1G.

I thought that I would take a stab at a look at the Whalen coaching years and all the things that have worked against Whalen and the Gophers. Admittedly, some are on Whalen, but much of it was outside her control. Great talent makes a coach look much better, and lesser talent probably more...
