    Christmas Transfer Portal Wish List

Oh, no doubt there's a new reality. I just don't happen to like it. And it doesn't get at the central issue: What exactly are we cheering for? Sure, you can say the same about pro sports, but THAT'S A MAJOR FLAW IN PRO SPORTS. It's that the owners think we will cheer for the uniform. And...

    Christmas Transfer Portal Wish List

I find the portal talk fascinating. Why do people support specific volleyball programs (aside from proximity)? Are we just cheering for a uniform and it doesn't matter who wears it? Or does the uniform magically transform a player into one worth cheering for? I am not interested in mercenaries...

Update: MSU hires Kristen Kelsay: Michigan State parts ways with Leah Johnson

Comparing MSU and Minnesota situations is not fair. Cook inherited a hell of a lot more than Johnson did.

Update: MSU hires Kristen Kelsay: Michigan State parts ways with Leah Johnson

I like KK a lot, but with all due respect, what has she done (so far) to warrant a head coaching job? Not to mention that MSU is a bad job (right now). I sure wouldn't want to be put in a position of building a team in today's B1G. Good luck with that.

    Gopher 2026 Volleyball Commitments

Both programs are corrupt. I want Minnesita to be better but I wouldn't be able to support a program like either of those. Honestly, I think I'm done with the sport. All college sports. Too bad I still have to pay for them.

    NCAA match attendance.

Sure would be nice for a female to win, even if I don't want any of the 4 teams to win.

One can hope they screw up the chemistry like Texas did. This year anyhow.

Wenaas did. Booth left after the announcement, right?

At least Barnes and Wenaas went to play different positions.

She left for the same reason Booth did. No faith in KC. Self-fulfilling in some ways. Too bad they went to such unethical programs.

    Gopher 2026 Volleyball Commitments

Absolute shame that a 4-year college scholarship is not enough compensation. But, of course, the obscene amounts of money the NCAA and schools receive makes things problematic. Just further signs of the rot at the center of our culture. And what our priorities are.

    NCAA match attendance.

vonner is correct about Louisville and Pitt. I wonder when they made this change. I was always under the assumption the NCAA didn't want programs advertising themselves, although I know it is also a sponsorship thing. For Taraflex. Also, never mind. And go Creighton!

    NCAA match attendance.

This is not true. They have always used the same floor in all 4 regionals. And the NCAA was very strict with signage too. It could be true that Nebraska (and others?) got a pass because they use Taraflex, but I didn't think that was the criteria in the past.

    NCAA match attendance.

So why does Nebraska get to use their flooring in their regional?

Is it a business? I disagree. Although maybe it is at Nebraska.

On the other hand, propaganda could be worse

As posted at VolleyTalk. In short, Wisconsin steals its players from a variety of other programs. Only John Cook is more full of it these days. +++ A Wednesday feel good read written by the one and only Dennis Punzel. “Diversity may be a hot button topic in many corners these days, but for the...

In Year 2 under Keegan Cook, Gophers volleyball set foundation for brighter future

You read it right there: no excuses for 2025 should things not improve.

    Tough Question

Could be worse, of course. I offer you $765 million over 15 years as an example. An example, mind you. I'm not offering you $765 million. I just can't swing it right now.
