FWIW, in the 2015/16 season the Gophers dropped back-to-back games against South Dakota & South Dakota State.

To be fair, Ben's 1999-2000 NW team was 0-16 in the B1G. But the 1990-91 NW team was 0-18. And Ben only played in 16 of NW's record 32 B1G losses in a row. Doesn't that look a lot better?

I disagree with this. Ben was a first year coach who had previously been a journeyman assistant coach for a series of underwhelming teams. There was no reason to expect any positive results. At least now he has a track record & 4 B1G wins. I think recruiting should be easier this time...

I'm not optimistic about the future. IMO, no more that 50/50 that they match this year's B1G record next year. Nor do I see them winning more than seven or eight conference games in any of the next 4 seasons.
