    B1G Game 12: Gophers Visit Illinois (2-5-23)

Slipping back to old ways in the 3rd. Lindsay needs to refocus them. Getting tired of hearing Illinois getting these easy lay ups while me miss open jumpers.

When does the seat become hot?

This is correct and shows the gap in perspectives among members of this thread. Division 1 Big Ten high profile sports are essentially like Fortune 500 companies. Where expectations are always high and pressure is applied to either perform or leave. And by perform it means always succeed. On...

    B1G Game 11: Minnesota Hosts Indiana (2-1-23)

I'll respectfully disagree with your respectful disagreement. If a kid comes to your program with great natural ability, but poor fundamentals - you can coach fundamentals, by making them practice them. Like really practicing them. Like not leaving the gym until you make 50 layups in row...

    B1G Game 11: Minnesota Hosts Indiana (2-1-23)

Fundamentals. Like turnovers, free throw shooting, blocking out, getting back on defense, making open layups are on the coaches. Coaches can emphasize, teach and practice fundamentals. Good teams have these as part of their culture and it starts with the coach. You can't build to something...

    B1G Game 5: Gophers visit Wisconsin (1-8-23)

This is a must win game. Lindsay needs to get them dialed in. The Ohio State loss is in the rearview. They can't play down to a bad, last place WI team. Period. No 'they're freshman', "playing for next year' excuses. You can use those against OSU and Maryland. Not WI. 2024 recruits are...

UPDATE: Jasmine Powell Leaves Team: Transfers to Tennessee

I was making the opposite point (unless I misinterpreted you): the players Whalen gets should need even more coaching than Geno's. But does anyone think he lets them freeform away from his system? Even with the talent he gets, their going to listen to him and his assistants. And if they...

Game 13: Gophers Host Eastern Illinois (12-22-22)

Rose needs to figure it out sooner rather than later. She is a sophomore, not a freshman. Figuring it out by her senior year is too late. This distinction of recognizing when to pass to open teammates isn't rocket science and it could mean 4-8 points difference per game. This is also...

UPDATE: Jasmine Powell Leaves Team: Transfers to Tennessee

Do you think that Auriemma lets players learn on their own timeline? Or any other top coaches?

Game 12: Gophers host Milwaukee (12-14-22)

OK outing I guess. But did we just get outrebounded 42-31 by Milwaukee? Too many fouls as well. Is Milwaukee a better team than they look on paper?

Game 12: Gophers host Milwaukee (12-14-22)

Well their non-conference competition will certainly get tougher next year.

B1G Game 1: Gophers Host Penn State (12-3-22)

Still loving the defensive energy. Allowing 76 points in regulation may seem high - but not due to the defense as much as the turnovers. Allowing your opponent 20+ more possessions will skew your "points allowed" even if you have stops half of those times.

Just stop trying to pass into the paint already....

Battle having a poor night. None of her shots are even close. Thankfully Cayton saved one of her missed wide open lay ups.

Game 7 Gophers Host Wake Forest (11-30-22)

Love the energy on defense. But the sloppiness and misses close to the rim is frustrating to watch. Regardless of how young they are.

    Game 1: Gophers v Western Illinois 11-7-22

Sloppiness in the 4th is disconcerting. Might need to work on conditioning.

EXHIBITION: GOPHERS HOST UW RIVER FALLS (10-30-22)

How great would we have looked with Holloway out there with them? Hopefully watching them has her excited to be out there with them next year. I hope she is recovering well.

Shama: State icon Lindsay Whalen, whose Gophers open their season at home November 7 against Western Illinois, is coaching for job security.

You mean the same students that enter the transfer portal at a higher and higher percentage?

    Next Gopher Assistant Coach?

Don't we really need an assistant coach who is a specialist in post play and development?
