who knows if they are over-rated. I've said similar so many times and then have learned. . .it's just one game. But Creighton pretty much killed them today. We'll see. Next week every game can be a surprise.

So I had Creighton down for the count when they lost Nembhard a few games ago. Nice coaching job and players have really stepped up.

All good info thanks. Maybe I'm just scratching my head as to what others like the MWC tier schools were NOT seeing at the time. You had guys like Tim Miles who was at NDSU from 01-07 and moved up. Bottom line is he is back in the NCAA tournament again (he did it also in 2018 w/ Wright State I...

NDSU really something. They obviously develop football players. Seems like they're doing the same in basketball at least to some extent. I had not seen them this year until last night, and thought they showed pretty well.

No wasn't sarcasm (I try to avoid that). This is my exact point. . .that it was a great hire for Wright State, and cannot understand how he didn't have a better option with the success he had. Of course I know how long he was at SDSU, etc. Nothing against Wright State, and that may be where he...

Shama: What uw has achieved in basketball during the last 20-plus years is remarkable; what U coaches and administrators have done is embarrassing

For sure on Oregon State. They did sign a talented kid from Germany, and I think they'll get it back on track next season.

    2022 Transfer Portal Discussion

I think it's been pretty much covered, but leveraging the portal IS recruiting. In the same way recruiting from HS is recruiting. And while I think some mid-majors are hurt by having a previous under-the-radar type who ends up being a stud. . .and then transfers to bigger school, there are...

    2022 Transfer Portal Discussion

Excellent thread and hope it doesn't stray. Going to be huge numbers who enter portal again this year. Until some other rule arrives, this is the norm and coaches/teams better adapt…..plug&play to complement smart prep recruiting.

2021 Portal Misses--How Did They Do?

Great post and thanks for the research. I think most feel like Johnson must have thought he had player A or B lined up and it just didn't happen. Rebraca for instance given geo proximity. This year Gophers have things turn in their favor!

I think they have to actually delay removing the entire Bryant fan base as they want rhe Wagner fans to get in their cars and out of there…..so they are purposely delaying things a bit to let things calm down.

    Ben Johnson and this team

Not sure what anyone defines as top guys off the portal, as everyone's definition can differ. But no reason Gophers can't have a major. . .significant upgrade, especially where the inside game is concerned which has been painful to watch. If teams like Boise State, San Franciso and several...

Other than Tomanga, Huskers didn't have many options. They are a poor FT shooting team. And the ones who do shoot it well, were either out with injury (McGowens), or fouled out (Verge). Derrick Walker at 70% maybe only other option.

Wyoming really only had one bad loss, and that was at New Mexico. UNLV has improved, so not sure that loss hurt Wyoming. All other losses were vs. similarly tough teams. I agree San Diego State has surged. Their defense is super strong. MWC is just a really strong league now, and next year will...

Missouri State has a couple of legit big men especially Prim, which is why I remain apparently in the minority who thinks there are plenty of bangers around, just gotta get ‘em to sign. I think Johnson knows this and I am sure he will correct the problems inside…..
