You keep comparing this staff to Kill’s. NO ONE CARES! Fleck is the better recruiter and coach. There might be one or two guys on this entire board that would disagree with that take. What’s relevant right now isn’t how Fleck’s classes compare to Kill’s. It’s how they compare to the rest of the...

Anyone that questions a Fleck recruiting class needs deep breaths and a step back. Great analysis. And I thought we are Ohio St. Anyone that rushes to the defense of the staff as much as you feel the need to is in much more need of fresh air and a change of scenery. It’s a message board...

Tell me about all these talented “under the radar recruits” PJ has brought in? I can probably name 3. Tanner Morgan, Autman-Bell, and John Michael Schmitz.

I know that Alabama, Ohio St and Clemson consistently have top 5 classes and are among the best teams in the country. I know that Iowa and Wisconsin consistently have higher rated classes than we do, beat us on the field, and then we can’t understand why it happens.

There is an entire industry that developed formulas. They work pretty well with predicting success.

Gasp! I questioned PJ’s recruiting class! I’m a negative Nellie! You pegged it.

When our recruiting rankings are good, it’s ‘way to go staff, we sure are recruiting well.’ When our recruiting rankings aren’t good, it’s “trust the coaches” and the “staff knows way more than you.” You win either way.

PJ has been our coach for 5 years. No one cares how it compares with any past staff. It’s a huge drop off from his 2021 class.

The ratings will change for every team, and recruits throughout the entire country haven’t been evaluated as much due to Covid. Our avg player ranking is one of the worst of all P5 teams as 60’s guy noted.

This class is bad, and there isn’t a ways to go. They only have space for 2-3 more recruits. This will be a bottom of the barrel Big Ten class. A huge drop off from last year.

And not to mention, the primary reason we hired Johnson to begin with was because of these supposedly great relationships with MN high school players. So far we’re looking at an O for Pitino recruiting class.

Official roster updated: we have 8 players

Of the players that left, 4 have ended up at Power 5 schools (Robbins, Williams, Gabe, Johnson), one can go anywhere he wants (Carr), and one is still unknown (Gach) but is likely to end up at a P5 school. That’s 6 guys that were, without question, Big Ten players. We’ve replaced those 6 with...

Ben Johnson on losing 10 players: "I don't take things personally."

Stop with the racist nonsense. We hired someone that wasn’t qualified, period. People would have been just as upset if we hired a random white assistant coach from Xavier. Ben won’t even be able to field a group of guys to practice in June for summer workouts because our roster is so decimated.

Ben Johnson on losing 10 players: "I don't take things personally."

He said it in a far more nuanced and politically correct way than I just did, but he said it multiple times in mid-March in the GI threads when Dennis Gates was the leader. He said with the recent events in Minneapolis, the Board of Regents was insisting on hiring a minority coach, given that...

Ben Johnson on losing 10 players: "I don't take things personally."

According to Ryan James, the U needed a diversity hire and it was a non-negotiable chip Coyle had to play. When he struck out on Dennis Gates, Johnson was his only option.

Enjoy the season! I’ll bet you will be nowhere to be found when we’re dead last in January. You’re fighting the wrong fight. I don’t believe anyone who is ripping BJ wanted to keep Pitino. Certainly not me. The issue is we didn’t hire a real coach.
