    2024-2025 Opponents

Interesting home/away breakdown. If the Gophers were realistically a top third team, this would be a terrible schedule with road-games only against the league's predicted top 4: USC, UCLA, OSU & Nebraska (and also Maryland). But as a team more realistically aiming for 7th-10th, it's not bad to...

Is Coach P still in the portal market for next year?

    2024-2025

I hope the non-conference schedule next year reflects this. No excuse to have a repeat of this year, with a NET non-conference schedule rank of 189, RPI non-conference schedule rank of 113. Will be very interesting to see how Coach P approaches non-con scheduling in year 2.

    2024-2025

I certainly wouldn't call the victories over Michigan State and Nebraska luck, but it's hard to stack victories shooting 41.3% and 40.7% from the field, as the Gophers did in those games. It's partly why the victories you cite stand out as outliers. The Michigan victory was just one of those...

    2024-2025

I'm open to the idea that the Gophers may have been able to claw their way into the tournament, without the Braun and Hart injuries, but also very open to them playing their way out of the tourney, as they started to do with the bad loss at Wisconsin. As of January 28, 2024, the date of Braun's...

Home/Away opponents announced. Gophers head to California twice next year.

Doubt the Gophers head twice to California. USC and UCLA is 1 trip. USC and UCLA are paired for scheduling, as are Oregon and Washington. Similarly, the teams that that play at Washington and Oregon will make 1 trip, I would guess.

    Notable Coaching Changes 2024

Not a fan of this move by Coach Eighmey, who signed 4 graduate transfers to Idaho in the last few weeks, as well as accepting another portal commitment within the last few weeks.

Chloe Lamb added to coaching staff

Love the boilerplate in these announcements, i.e. "rising star in the coaching profession."

Do Kendall McGee or Addison Mack have current Gopher offers?

    Taylor Woodson is coming home

I think Heyer and GG will both benefit from playing less minutes. With the depth improvements, there should be no repeat of this year's game at Wisconsin where a dead-tired Gopher team didn't show up.

    Taylor Woodson is coming home

For those that know Woodson’s game, can she shoot the 3? Her defense was surprisingly good for a freshman, but teams sagged off her on defense.

    Transfer Portal 2024

Is Karlen a possibility for the Gophers? See she has been to Notre Dame for a visit.

In case anybody missed it: Caitlin Clark went #1 in the WNBA Draft. :)

I guess Caitlin Clark should have pointed back at her own ring finger when Angel Reese was taunting her by pointing at Reese’s ring finger.

Never heard anyone claim you get a ring for winning a regional. Rings are for championships.

Kate Martin, a rare 4-time all BIG sportsmanship award winner. Guessing she had more BIG players happy for her last night than Iowa's other draftee.

    Ayianna Johnson Enters the Portal

Johnson would be a good fit in Madison as a backup to Williams.

    2024-2025

Minnesota has had 9 McDonald's All Americans, only 2 of which chose a blue blood (Paige and Tessa). The in-conference recruiting losses to Ohio State, Northwestern and Michigan really hurt. Hill and Coffey had great college careers. Will be interesting to see Olson at Michigan (assuming she...

    2024-2025

The number of Minnesota players with a profile or article highlighting how they did when "matched up" against Paige is long. Stewart, Braun, McKenzie, Jensen all come to mind as examples.

What grade would you give Gophers in Coach P’s first season?

Organization was better. Turnovers were better, and defense was modestly improved. Pace of play was slower, which was a correct read on Gopher talent, but a problem. Gophers need to play faster, at least sometimes. Offense, however, was bad. The Gophers were the worst shooting team in the...
