I Believe in the Death of Julius Caesar and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ

Top 5 Rebuttals to the OP: 1. I think historians also consider plausibility. It's highly plausible the senators murdered Caesar. It's highly implausible Jesus rose from the dead. 2. No one really cares about the Ides of March anymore, beyond a cautionary tale and/or superstition. No one is...

    Random Music Thread....

That's great and all. But The Current had this in HEAVY rotation. I got so sick of it that I switched to something else every time they played a song from it. So...that's great and all...in some doses. :)

    Who's Your Side Show Bob's?

Yes! Brooklyn 9-9: Madeline Wuntch. The on-screen rivalry between Kyra Sedgwick & Andre Braugher was fantastic. Arrested Development: Barry Zuckercorn

    RIP 'Dr Hook' Tim McCracken

When I read Dr. Hook, I first thought Dr. Tooth of the Electric Mayhem, and I was like, "NOOOOOOO".

All about the Minnesota Golden Gophers: An Oregon Ducks fan guide to the Big Ten Conference

Same with Ric Flair, are you considered an alum if you don't graduate. Couple famous baseball alums left out. Overall, cool quick synopsis of UMN. Though they also could have mentioned Goldy's and the dance team's national championships. They're our dynasties!!

    All Things TV Series Recommendations/Reviews

Finished up Fargo last night. As others have said, fantastic season. And that season finale just may be the best I've ever seen. You knew something was still coming, but the writers turned "Fargo" completely on its head and created something truly unexpected.

Shane MacGowan, leader of The Pogues, dies at 65

Love how more people keep joining on the chancel, like one guy just pulls a flute out of his jacket pocket, and people start dancing in the church.

B1G Conference for the Future - Keeping it Interesting for Fans of "Middle of the Pack" Teams

Andre Braugher has died at 61

Oh dang... I agree, best character on 9-9 and really sold that show. One thing I appreciate about Michael Schur is that he creates interesting, complex characters. Rather than just the gruff captain, Capt Holt is much more complex. And Braugher played it expertly. His comedic timing is...

    OLD MUSIC

The Clash played over the grocery store speakers this weekend (London Calling). I chuckled a little and wondered if The Clash ever thought they'd be so cliched as to be heard in a supermarket. It wasn't this song, but you have to appreciate the irony.

    All Things TV Series Recommendations/Reviews

Season 5 has been great so far and a return to form. Some similar themes as the early seasons, but that's ok; it works. Juno Temple is fantastic and such a contrast from her Ted Lasso role. Deserving of some award nominations. That Munch guy makes for a fun, mysterious villain. The whole...

The dichotomy in a pro sports town

I agree that pro & college are two VERY different sports. I disagree that they both can't be successful (as others have argued). I doesn't work when they try to "cohabitate" like at the Dome. We learned that the hard way. But there are regular threads about how great the student sectioin has...

    The question must be asked….

Tour the Athletes Village and then let us know what you think. The basketball, and especially football, facilities FAR surpass other sports. Sure, probably still behind other schools. But compared to what it was before and compared to our other sports, it's not even close. Seriously though...

Shane MacGowan, leader of The Pogues, dies at 65

One of me favorite lines is "I could've been someone." "Well, so could anyone". The self-wallowing, calling out the BS, the ebb & flow of a relationship -- just a masterful song. Certainly one of my favorites.

Shane MacGowan, leader of The Pogues, dies at 65

Bummer, for sure. But dang...even Shane probably thought the drink & drugs would take him before 65.
