The NCAA wants us to believe they're by-standers in this charade of a "free market" (NIL) for the benefit of the athletes. I'm against the athletes getting paid millions, but NOT against the athletes being compensated beyond the free tuition, room and board, which is already worth a significant...
Ironically, the UoM, with all their focus away from athletics has also fallen in college academic rankings. National University overall ranking # 53, behind (in order): Northwestern, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Purdue, Illinois.
if you're referring to X's and O's, Pitino teams were constantly outcoached. Many times, they were good unit half time and the other team/coach made adjustments and MN didn't make the necessary adjustments to counteract the other team's adjustments. In addition, Pitino's assistants did most of...
CBJ as a coach is like a walk-on player at a B10 school. The player was noticed at the previous level and serves a role at the next level but is not expected to do well compared to others. As an X's and O's coach he's much better than Pitino, but he doesn't have the acumen to coach in the b10...
He's from the Pitino tree and should never been hired knowing that fact and knowing his "contribution" to the program. Still blame Coyle for the hire and putting CBJ in the position to fail.
Yep...who hired the group of coaches? The athletic directors and administrators. Basketball, same results and coaches hired by the same group of athletic directors and administrators.
Instead of questioning whether I read the article, which I did, elaborate why you think the FBI should be involved where a college coach is accessing "accounts" of people thru the athletic department. And if the FBI is involved and ESPN is writing a story about an important event, why no mention...
FBI has more important crimes to investigate than unauthorized access to email accounts by an assistant football coach that occurred in 2021. The coach was subsequently fired.
So, you're saying the gophers were trying to "sandbag" the game or they were attempting to get all players some experience while the Colorado state was playing their top players.
Couldn't the B10 decide the revenue split for TV and bowl games based on metrics other than you're a B10 school, e.g. TV viewers or ratings. In that scenario fielding a team of walk-ons would damage the entire athletic department since there's only 2 revenue sports.
PJ's not getting the same contract at any other school nor should he. Same as Pitino getting a substantial reduction in pay after leaving MN. Pitino went from $ 2.46 mm/year to $ 750k/year at New Mexico.
