How many of you think these pre-season rankings of the Gophers are $#!+?

Last year was a valley for my fandom. I've been following the team for about twenty years and setting aside Mason's Michigan collapse, I can't remember feeling more dejected. 2024 feels like house money for me. If we win six games I'll get it, but I do think we are significantly better heading...

    Spann-Ford signs with the Cowboys.

In the lineage of Ed "too tall" Jones, now the cowboys can lay claim to Brevyn "stone hands" Ford!

CBS: Questions for each Big Ten team in spring (MN: Can Corey Hetherman continue what Joe Rossi started?)

I'm hopeful he does well! Def a nice little read on him. Thanks for sharing it.

CBS: Questions for each Big Ten team in spring (MN: Can Corey Hetherman continue what Joe Rossi started?)

I haven't followed the offseason as closely as many here. But if Rossi left because of money, man... what a shame. Last year was a major disappointment for the defense, but his overall body of work was very impressive.

    A Dapper Punishment

I don't feel the need to justify my position further by sharing personal histories. No hate - just feels destined to be a pissing match.

    A Dapper Punishment

I was not a d1 athlete. I appreciate that we can't all agree all the time.

    A Dapper Punishment

Yup! But my original adjective, was "silly." And that probably is the more accurate descriptor for my stance on this policy. There are already many mechanisms in place to weed students out - chiefly, academic performance, and cost. College students are adults, able to vote, able to fight and...

    A Dapper Punishment

For sure dude - considering how on the brink we are of these players being NFL-lite, it gets more ludicrous by the day. But I'm a pretty big cynic about any sort of rules that I find arbitrary. The concept of "building men" through Academics just doesn't resonate with me. But blah blah, not any...

    A Dapper Punishment

I'm casually pushing back on what I perceive to be an antiquated and silly expectation. As a man of my word, I aim to honor any commitment I make - so if I were on the football team (lol), I would maintain the agreement. And as a casual 40 year old that now considers academics to be purely a...

247 predicts Gophers will go 1-8 and finish 17th in Big Ten

Yikes! As I approach the three week deadline to renew season tickets, lol. But honestly, the thing holding me back from auto-renewing is simply the sheer number of warm weather games that will likely start at 3 pm. I want more cold weather, and more 11 am starts so I don't lose my whole saturday.

    A Dapper Punishment

Silly. Academics are a game that most students understand how to play. I easily held a very strong GPA and missed class strategically based on the demands of the course.

Fleck and Assistant Bump in Pay

100% wish this were possible. I'm assuming there are road blocks, but the Wilfs are laughing all the way to the bank with what they've done for US Bank stadium.

Fleck and Assistant Bump in Pay

All sorts of feelings about this. Sometimes you have to lose to win, it would seem.

We need a statement tradition song!

Everything I'd suggest would probably feel too heavy for milquetoast types, but I do think Heavy Metal is the gold standard for hyping sports. Perhaps some Frozen Soul, Amon Amarth (mainstream enough), or Nile, lol.

RandBall: Pessimism? Nah. Now the best Gophers teams can compete in College Football Playoff

You both make compelling arguments. I am hopeful that the Mississippi states of the world unite with the Minnesota's in violent football revolution!
