    B1G Game 1: Gophers Host Purdue (12-10-23)

Wow! What a fun game to watch! Amazing finish. I guess the main thing that jumped out at me about this game was the fact that Minn showed that they can win a Grind-It-Out, half-court, Big Ten defensive basketball game against a good team. A game where, there weren't a lot of open shots for...

    B1G Game 1: Gophers Host Purdue (12-10-23)

I clicked that tab and all that came up for me was a black screen with the radio broadcast. Normally, I go to the Minnesota Gophers basketball schedule and one of the tabs listed on that page is Live Stats. It's not there today. Oh well.. 41 shots in the first half is a lot! Especially...

    B1G Game 1: Gophers Host Purdue (12-10-23)

Am I missing something? No Live Stats? Been watching first quarter. Offenses not great, defenses are both playing pretty well.

***OFFICIAL FGCU VS MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Hawkins 2 Turnovers in 31 minutes, which you can definitely live with from your point guard. Nobody else had more than 1 turnover. Did a great job of taking care of the ball.

Gophers Ben Johnson talks 76-65 win over Nebraska

A couple of excellent points made in the post game. One of the big ones comes shortly after 5 minutes in. We fans often forget that these coaches actually know these players far better than we do, and know what's going on with them physically, mentally and emotionally every day. What motivates...

***OFFICIAL NEBRASKA AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Well, using myself as an example, putting out a calm, cool and collected face for the general public is no indication of the fire burning inside. When it comes to my friends/co-workers, you will never see me acting up in public just so people can see that I care. My friends and co-workers call...

***OFFICIAL NEBRASKA AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Wondering if Ben hasn't been searching for this kind of passion and effort from his team all season long. Generally it's a pretty young team out there, or for some players, a big jump in competitive difficulty. I've talked to a lot of coaches over the years that love their talent, but also...

    TA'LON COOPER

Over the years, I've seen several examples of a player who is a fairly poor 1 on 1 defender, but can be a pretty good team defensive player because of their ability to, if not stay in front of a guy, be able to funnel that player into spots on the floor where the team defensive concepts can...

Is there any point to having the B1G+ app??

I subscribed and so far, I've had a chance to watch about 3 womens games. I'd say it's worth it to me. The announcers leave a lot to be desired in that you wonder if a couple of them have actually watched, or are watching the game they are broadcasting or just following their press notes...

***OFFICIAL NEW ORLEANS AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I've seen several occasions of guards leading a team in rebounding. Specifically remember a 6"0" point guard who averaged about 6 boards a game for 2 straight seasons explain: " My bigs box out so well that it's not that big a deal for me to cruise in from 10-12 feet out and pick off easy...

Game 7: Gophers Host Norfolk State (11-29-23)

Through 3 quarters, the defense has held Norfolk to just 12 baskets, taken away the 3 point shot for the most part and been in control the whole way. GG hustled her way to a couple of last second free throws and this game seems to be under control. Gotta go to work. Counting on the rest of...

Game 7: Gophers Host Norfolk State (11-29-23)

Man, Hart should have gotten an assist on the Battle turnaround in the lane on her last basket, even though she never touched the ball. Set a really good screen up over the free throw line, then rolled down and got a great seal near the bottom of the lane, which ensured there could be no...

Game 7: Gophers Host Norfolk State (11-29-23)

Just looked at the offensive stats. 10 assists on 14 baskets. That's really good.

Game 7: Gophers Host Norfolk State (11-29-23)

By far the most impressive things for me in the first half is the Gophers lock-down defense, both half-court and in transition. Moving well, communicating well, not giving up second shots, identifying the shooters and either staying on them or closing out well. Nice first half.

Game 7: Gophers Host Norfolk State (11-29-23)

Yeah, things are better when your long range shooters are hitting their open shots!

Game 7: Gophers Host Norfolk State (11-29-23)

Oh my. That Mullins is just too big of a load for Holliway to handle that deep in the lane! If she gets that deep with the ball, you're gonna need help from the top to see if you can strip the ball.

Game 7: Gophers Host Norfolk State (11-29-23)

Defense looks good through 1st quarter. Moving their feet, getting into some passing lanes, forcing some difficult shots. Now need the offense to get good ball movement and reasonable threat at the high post to attack the half-court zone. .

Game 7: Gophers Host Norfolk State (11-29-23)

Loved how Hart picked up the ball and moved her feet to stay in position to get that block.

Of course, as soon as I post, she goes under a screen up top and Norfolk gets an open 3. Argh.
