I haven’t watched Nebraska this year, but thought I heard Ryan’s Burns mention he gets most of his snaps in the slot. I doubt they put T-time in the slot. My guess is they just give whoever is covering him a lot of safety help.
I have nothing against Boyd and wished he would have stayed. I definitely think he can develop into a good WR. It would have been nice to have good depth and have him push MBS for snaps. I just don’t think he would have significantly moved the needle on the passing game THIS year, very few...
Speaking of the secondary, gotta think that Terrell Smith might be playing himself into late to mid round consideration especially given his speed and length. I think he will test well and he has been impressive so far this year.
I think they acknowledged before the season that they would be spending a majority of the time in the nickel, so 4-2-5. The 3-4 is the base defense. Through the first two games they spent 86% of their snaps in nickel, and I doubt that changed much in the next two games.
Take a chill pill my man. My OP was more about the fault of expecting young and unproven QBs to be better than an average to good QB, hence the Mertz/Coan situation. I then responded to KG21 and acknowledged that Morgan is an average to above average QB in the Big 10. He obviously can’t win when...
It seems like you are ignoring that Morgan had a very good game against Michigan State. I get that there is some frustration with Morgan as he is not a perfect QB. I think most would rate him at average to above average. However, I don’t see how you come away with Morgan being the biggest issue...
I am very excited for whatever our future is at QB and think Kaliakmanis has a lot of potential. However, having a high recruiting ranking and a strong arm does not mean you will be successful. I bet a lot of Wisconsin fans were clamoring for Mertz when Coan was starting.
Very hard to “learn” a defense when you are injured. There is only so much you gain from watching film or studying the playbook. Gotta get actual reps in practice or in game.
