    Gophers in the NFL

Carter Coughlin didn't accrue any stats during Thursday Night Football, but he at least got a few seconds of screentime for his reaction to Daniel Jones' 80-yard stumble-rooski (around the 1:20 mark)

    Season starting hype video?

We've traced the videos. The hype is coming from inside the thread

What are you drinking for the game?

I took a day trip up to Sonoma a few days after the Big Ten originally postponed the season. I saved a couple Russian River sours from the trip to have during the next game--whenever that would be.

What are you cooking for the game?

They're most commonly called Funeral Potatoes.

WHAT IS THE OFFICIAL DEPTH CHART?

Harbaugh: "I've seen lots of reporting that Dunlap and Faalele may be out for the game. Who knows if it's true, but in the event that it is, we should spend a non-zero amount of time developing a scheme we can opt into that attacks the right side of the line". That complicates preparation, and...

WHAT IS THE OFFICIAL DEPTH CHART?

What? Of course there is. Who knows if Harbaugh is trying to read the tea leaves, and is coming up with a game plan based on that. In fact, there’s no downside to hiding it. And even if the upside of obscuring your starting lineup in infinitesimally small, it’s infinitely greater than the...

    Anyone peacefully protesting around Gameday?

Regardless of someone's political leaning, I think we can all agree that taking somebody to Wisconsin against their will is both cruel and unusual.

The Pride of Minnesota marching band will make an appearance on College Gameday!

I think Nibir’s run on Jeopardy proved that he’s very rarely wrong. Can we get him as the Gameday celebrity guest picker and make sure he chooses the Gophers?

    A heartfelt congratulations

I’m not sure which I feel worse for, the fact that OP cares so much that they felt the need to post this in the first place, or the fact that they felt the need to circle back and check on this bombshell a full hour later and edit the post because it wasn’t just right.

K-State student athletes are taking a stand against racism

You know, when I was talking to my (now) father in law about proposing to his daughter, he offered some unsolicited but very relevant advice: “If you’re going to have kids, make sure you have at least a couple. Everyone screws up on their first one.” My wife is the youngest of three—and I...

K-State student athletes are taking a stand against racism

KSU is a public land-grant school, which receives funding from the government and is overseen by a Board of Regents that is appointed by the Governor of Kansas. I'm not sure what kind of distinction you're trying to make, but it's certainly an institution that is considered under the umbrella of...

Mississippi State RB Kylin Hill: "Either change the flag or I won’t be representing this State anymore & I meant that .. I’m tired "

Do you think the involvement of African tribes in the slave trade is some novel revelation? Of course I'm aware, and it's sickening. It's also a completely different matter from whatever idiotic point you were trying to make. Quit the strawman arguments, they're a bad look even for you. Are...

Mississippi State RB Kylin Hill: "Either change the flag or I won’t be representing this State anymore & I meant that .. I’m tired "

Let's parse this completely-unattributed blurb, shall we? 150-250k dead in the two years following emancipation (later simplified to 200k for the final tally) 15% of 480k died in transit, rounded to 75k. 30% of 480k in slave raids, rounded to 150k. Yes, indeed that does add to 425k. Congrats...

K-State student athletes are taking a stand against racism

Like many things with the Constitution, present-day interpretation comes from 200+ years of legal precedent. As it relates to speech within the public education space, much of the precedent has been set in the past 60 years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_speech_(First_Amendment)

STrib: One ranking has the Gophers' 2020 schedule as the third-easiest in the Big Ten

To be fair, my first year at the U was 2007's 1-11 season. So I probably should have seen the collapse coming.

K-State student athletes are taking a stand against racism

If he were to be expelled from a public university because of his tweet, that's 100% a governmental consequence from his actions. If he attended a private school and was expelled, it's 100% not a governmental action. KSU is a public school.

K-State student athletes are taking a stand against racism

At public universities, student codes of conduct do not--and cannot--trump freedom of speech. Many people have a fundamental misunderstanding of what is and is not covered under the First Amendment (including an upsetting number of posters on this forum). This is a pretty clear case where...
