Iowa DC Parker with a bump in Pay: $1.9M

I’ve been curious about that as well. I haven’t seen the number anywhere.

    Who will replace Saban?

Thamel reporting DeBoer to Alabama almost done. On the “cusp” he says.

Gophers hire TE coach per Ryan Burns.

It is Eric Koehler. Has coached for over 20 years, 10 of them as an OC. Lots of experience coming to the staff on that side of the ball with this hire. Was OC at Miami (OH) and Grand Valley State.

    Who will replace Saban?

I agree about Kiffin, but Chris Low says there isn’t much traction at the moment from what he hears for Kiffin, Dabo or Sark. Personally, Kiffin can coach my team any time. He’s a phenomenal recruiter and the dude can coach. Yes, he rubs some wrong, but he gets results.

    Who will replace Saban?

FWIW, there are whispers that Alabama’s NIL program isn’t nearly what folks think it is or should be. Was briefly mentioned on the radio this morning. Probably still substantial compared to most, but nowhere near the top like you’d think.

    Who will replace Saban?

Chris Low, who broke the story on Saben retiring, said he thinks most likely Norvell or DeBoer now that Lanning has said no thanks. Low also thinks Locksley and Tommy Rees get interviewed.

Saban Retiring. Was one heck of a run.

Lanning has said no to Alabama. Bill King had a guest on this morning who said Lanning was the first choice. DeBoer at Washington is probably going to be the second choice.

    We’ve got our DC!

According to an article in USA Today dated November of 2023, he’s making $1.4M. I think Rossi was making what, $1.1??? That isn’t a huge discrepancy, but it is total staff compensation where the Gophers lag so far behind, and that is the problem. Let’s assume for just a second that you knew you...

    We’ve got our DC!

Actually, according to Ryan Burns and some others, this is true. However, Iowa outspends the Gophers by approximately $2M where assistant coaches salaries are concerned. Becky and Nebraska also significantly outspend us. That part isn’t PJ’s fault. That’s an administrative issue that the U is...

    We’ve got our DC!

One of these two is the reason, but I don’t know which. The University of Minnesota, while they have done more recently than in the past, still hasn’t committed to big time college football. Not only have they not committed to big time college football, we haven’t even committed to the level of...

    We’ve got our DC!

No doubt PJ probably checked in with Joe for some input regarding Heatherman.

    We’ve got our DC!

Very excited about this hire!! Was FCS assistant coach of the year at JMU and had great results there. Chili getting warm for sure!!!! Glad it wasn’t Lukabu. He just didn’t have great results at Boston College.

    The People’s DC options

Me too. Counting today, have held opponents to about 10 points per game.

    Logan Fife de-commits

Oh well. There are plenty of backup QB’s still in the portal.

    The People’s DC options

I too have worried about that, but many of his moves seem to be done for upward mobility. In that light, I guess I can understand. If it is him, I’d just feel better about it if the BC message board had been distraught when he left…and they weren’t. Just the opposite. His teams couldn’t stop...

    The People’s DC options

So, I went to the BC site and scrolled to the thread where it was announced he was leaving and headed to Carolina. Some posts in that… IggyInLA Posted on Feb 17th, 2023, 8:21 PM, , User Since 49 months ago, User Post Count: 716 Feb 17th, 2023, 8:21 PM 49 months 716 I’ve never been convinced...

    The People’s DC options

Looks that way. It’s going to be underwhelming for me as well, but honestly, the “candidates” that would get my chili hot are not realistically attainable. I think I’d prefer Nowinsky, but if he was the guy it would be done already. Does anyone know why Lukabu only spent two years at Boston...
