OF COURSE we COULD do better. We could contend for Final Fours. But our administration will never allow this. I always hated how they hamstrung & sabotaged us. And still do. But I can't blame them for not paying huge money to the students...that goes 100% against my ethics.

You think the coaches still assemble the teams? Seriously? As in a Minnesota coach can recruit & retain a player that's worth money?

That's our high watermark. We will never be better than an NCAA bubble team. Ever. The days of a possible Clem Haskins team are OVER. Never again.

Ben?? What does this have to do with Ben? This is 2024. The coaches don't assemble the teams anymore. If it was Ben assembling the team, we'd be very good.

I admit I'm melting down this off-season. 3 years invested in developing what would have been a very good team turned out to be a total waste of time. I think it stinks. Our only chance now is to try this senior average-age-23 strategy. I'm willing to give it a try. But to just act like...

You really think a new coach can keep our best players from being bought by other teams and going pro? You really think coaching is why we've only won 2 NCAA games in 27 years? You think this is just normal bad luck?

To me, it's idiotic to look at 2 NCAA wins in 27 years...and then look at another huge disadvantage appearing in the form of our best players now getting bought by other teams........and then just be like HO HUM, NO BIG DEAL.

I'm talking about real 4-stars. Not the newer expanded feel-good football list. I go by the famous recruiting site I've been following since 2000. According to them, we might have 1 or 2 on the roster. And if a new basketball coach recruits better players than Payne, Hawkins, and Christie...

I said plus additions...not all of our current additions. It was Newsome's bill and lawsuit that made this all happen. Yeah I don't put the blame all on 1 person...his whole party is in favor of this.

What doesn't make sense? We had a rapidly improving team with no seniors last year. What could a new better coach have done differently?

Funny how you don't mention last year. When our team greatly improved...and had valuable players that all left for money.

Losing Payne & Hawkins is overstated?? You can choose to believe it wasn't the money. You can choose to believe that it's no big loss. But keep in mind, we have other things working against us too. BEFORE officially becoming a feeder program, we had only won 2 NCAA games in 27 years.

PJ is an excellent coach. But there usually aren't any 4-star in-state football recruits. And PJ rarely lands any 4-stars. And we're never going to be a contender in football either. And what's a new basketball coach going to do?? Get better players than Payne, Hawkins, Christie, & García?

Everything on here is a broken record. Oh, let's get this recruit, let's get this new coach...then we're going to be good. We've heard that a million times.
