For example Gates won a lot last year, went 0-20 this year and if is freshman struggle next year he'll either be fired or on the hot seat the following season.
He was fired for the program getting worse year over year. If the program was consistently good or trending upwards no one would have brought up his overall record. He went from 9 to 8 to 6 wins.
Keep in mind the boards preferred candidate from last cycle hasn't won anything in 3 years in a weak conference with a 1st team all conference carryover.
