Im nonplussed as to why the stock market hasn't dived deeper in the wake of a forecast Depression.

Im watching "War of the Worlds", a kinda made for TV thing offered on Comcast-Xfinity. It sucks--way too much interpersonal angst, not enough aliens-- but its better than staring at the walls.

I keep the mute button handy when watching TV, usually CNN or MSNBC, which both have way too many commercials. Soon as one comes on, I l hit mute. The advertising jingles are especially pernicious. They stick and tend to replay in one's mind.

Well, there's a silver lining: stocks have an absolute floor at 0 (zero). Unlike bonds, they can't go negative, unless you're trading on margin or something (never advisable).

HOLY COW, SP500 down 216 at this point. Sports events--the conference tournaments, the NCAA tournament, the NBA all canceled. How about other sporting events--the NHL? Baseball spring training games? And similar cancellations elsewhere in the economy. The market crash seems justified.
