Post Game Thread: Gophers Lose Disappointing Game at Rutgers

If you can do it once, can twice. We almost did it vs Illinois.

    Maybe next year

Still two games to go, bowl game. Much fun still to be had. This team could have a "maybe next year" attitude after the Iowa game and just quit, they didn't.

What grade would you give the Gophers coaching in loss at Rutgers?

Coach's take a hit on this one for sure. But ... can't make plays and players on the field just didn't. It wasn't the "calls" that caused it. Gotta catch ball, offense and defense.

I'm not joking when I say. I'm adding it to my grocery list right now because I just remembered I'm out of it.

    Every season….

The ONLY teams who don't drop a game or two that they should have won ... are like the top 5 or so teams. Sometimes not even top 5. Look at the teams at the end of the season ... it happens to everyone. Any given Saturday / Sunday. Doesn't make it suck less tho...

Offense and defense missed opportunities. But whatever, we're bowl eligible, every team except the absolute best drops a game they "should win".

Music City Bowl (Nashville) VS Duke's Mayo Bowl (Charlotte)

I’m planning on taking a bowl game trip this year too. I’m hoping wherever is good to take my kids. Beach is always preferred!

On the topic of going for 2

I wonder if the fact that "stats say you should go for it" really means "in the long run this will work out". Problem for Head Coach is .... how often are they going to see this happen, what is the long run? 100 games? So maybe you see this situation once, twice in a HC coaching stint. So...

Gophers' Max Brosmer grades as one of the 8 best passing quarterbacks in the country

I thought KC picking him up made a lot of sense... but I also assumed Rutgers was going to pick up say multiple guys, and maybe a more likely #1 and AK would just be "in the mix" working on things. Not that AK would BE #1. That I was surprised by.

PJ hit his head on the ceiling while celebrating the victory over Illinois

Put a pizza up there …. 👆 probably pretty high.

    Daniel Jackson

At least once. It wasn't Max's best day, there were opportunities to turn that squeaker into a blow out. On the other hand Max also played safe with the ball.

    Daniel Jackson

I suspect that Jackson slowing up just slightly gave the DB the "pass not going here play not here" vibe. But yeah maybe the hands too.

PJ was asked about it in the press conference this week, but now we have the video proof:

    First CFP Ranking Released Nov.5

BYU has an argument that even at 9, they're underrated. Their strengthen of schedule is stronger than many teams up there.

Rutgers Greg Schiano press conference ahead of Minnesota.

Preview game conferences are so weird in that you really can't say much. I do think PJ says more than most, but even then ... what can you say?

The provenance of this evidence is mysterious and questionable… but it says what I want to believe…
